is that a challenge?
Nope it's not. The game can't handle more than 2million explosives in a save. I tried making asteroids go away. It was very productive and fun.
I had a look on the server browser and couldn't find the Facepunch Sever, help?
Has this happen to anyone yet with the connecting blocks? It stays next to me when I move D: [T]http://i.imgur.com/JX1fmgq.jpg[/T]
Id start a server with that space hulk, turn players names off, then as people are building their little survival ships, a big hulking ship floats by, utterly confusing and terrifying everyone, then disappears into the deep space. Then it appears every once in a while just to fuck with everyone. Thatd be so great.
better yet use the power of the void to teleport in, fuse with an asteroid, and teleport away. [editline]8th June 2014[/editline]
krail built that i can get you a better rust color, bird
I would really enjoy that, Im shit with the color sliders.
How are you guys making the space hulks? are you ramming them into each other or using merge blocks? I can't really contribute any ships to it but what I can do is make gravity mazes
Ram a few times then merge blocks
I am also curious, I can't imagine anyone's going to get a reasonable framerate with anything less than a 670. :v:
Actually the GPU part isnt that bad. My 670 is only running about 50-60%. The processor is the tough part. My i5-3570k runs around 70-90% and bottlenecks the framerate. I got at least 45fps before the SS Greeble was added, and 10-25fps now. Still usable, just a little annoying at times. Im gonna bump up the clock speed a bit and see if that helps.

[editline]7th June 2014[/editline] This picture outlines greatly the importance of safety while developing weapons, the last thing seen before my platform and myself were vaporized.
It looks like everything around you is glowing red-hot.
Did you make a star go super nova or something?
great, first you had space hulks, now you have 40k scale weapons if this game had planets i'm sure someone would soon find a way to perform Exterminatus
great, first you had space hulks, now you have 40k scale weapons if this game had planets i'm sure someone would soon find a way to perform Exterminatus
Just hover your fleet in orbit above the areas on the planet where enemy bases are, drop these weapons and that should be enough.
Tbh planets would either end up being either comically undersized, or close enough to realistic size (even a dwarf planet) that the bitch that is physics makes a) finding another player damn near impossible and b) getting within range of them without massively overshooting (assuming speed limit is upped so you can get there before dying of old age) due to the sheer difference in relative velocities also difficult. Would be nice if we get oversized asteroids, though. Something full of dark caverns, old bases and wrecks etc. Hell, if I knew how to make new asteroids, i'd do it myself.
Planets would be pretty stupid in Space Engineers.
i wasn't suggesting planets shouid be added, i was speaking completely hypothetically.
i wasn't suggesting planets shouid be added, i was speaking completely hypothetically.
I know, just felt like wedging the bit about extra-large asteroids in somewhere.
Just hover your fleet in orbit above the areas on the planet where enemy bases are, drop these weapons, Fly the fuck away and that should be enough.

I cant see why ... oh well Ill go back to listening to this while I tinker away https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbWOVfY-rxU
do you realize that you've basically invented the SE equivalent of the nuclear bomb the arms race is now only going to consist of how to effectively deploy these
do you realize that you've basically invented the SE equivalent of the nuclear bomb the arms race is now only going to consist of how to effectively deploy these
If programming gets in and people get good at it then we'll have to resort to diplomacy through MAD (that is until some giant borg cube comes through armed to the teeth and there's a treaty to kill the damn thing.)
thats units double it for litres.
Actually, I did some calculations based on SEwiki official numbers. That missile could, at max capacity, pack 7.81 tons of high explosive in vanilla x1 survival mode. (Multiply by 10 or 3 for other difficulties.) Some more calculating, and we find that a missile built around the large cargo container, under the same conditions, holds 62.5 tons of explosives, making it more powerful than many missiles. HOLY FUCK. You could also mount it on a small ship (which might give you around 124 pounds of explosive).
So, what's been happening in this thread for the past few days besides merge blocks? Something about blowing stuff up with high explosives in it causing a larger explosion?
So, what's been happening in this thread for the past few days besides merge blocks? Something about blowing stuff up with high explosives in it causing a larger explosion?
Space nukes.
So, what's been happening in this thread for the past few days besides merge blocks? Something about blowing stuff up with high explosives in it causing a larger explosion?
JesseR92 ruined space warfare for everyone
Guys, at this point youre worrying about the max explosives in a container, and youre overlooking this a little bit just put on a second container
But... wouldn't it just be deflected by gravity?
Jesus christ you guys like exponentially increased the power of your space bombs and now y'all are having like a fucking arms race. The parallels to the fucking cold war are everywhere.
The only reason this war is cold is because multiplayer would commit suicide.
But... wouldn't it just be deflected by gravity?
Remove its self-propulsion and instead guide it towards your target using a stealthy and fast ship. Weakness removed.
Remove its self-propulsion and instead guide it towards your target using a stealthy and fast ship. Weakness removed.
Alternatively just whack on a cockpit to adjust the course kamikaze style for your flying bomb.
Remove its self-propulsion and instead guide it towards your target using a stealthy and fast ship. Weakness removed.
And remove yourself and your ship at the same time when you deliver the payload.
Remove its self-propulsion and instead guide it towards your target using a stealthy and fast ship. Weakness removed.
Kinetic torpedoes of the old sort become useful again (Especially since you can use merge blocks to connect them!)
Kinetic torpedoes of the old sort become useful again (Especially since you can use merge blocks to connect them!)
It'd be nice if merge blocks needed power to function, that way you could make fragmenting warheads.
I made two small ship carried nuclear weapons: Before test run (aiming in middle of ship): After test run: [img_thumb]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/468686162914117032/AE6E5FC5C868731059F3B840D5EBB194038890C0/[/img_thumb]
