Yeah, Reddit's crap sometimes. Also, I'm really surprised you haven't quoted Oppenheimer's famous line yet. "Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds."
i actually have just not in this thread. [editline]8th June 2014[/editline] Just a general pattern of the explosion It obliterates everything in a 30m radius and all light armor and components in a 150m radius. another subject is delivery systems in particular "fail safe" and "fail deadly" my torpedo is of the fail safe design if it is destroyed due to enemy fire it does not detonate its main charge, however a fail deadly torpedo with its payload loose inside the shell will detonate upon enemy fire destroying everything in the blast radius.
playing with plastic explosives crashes the game for me
So... Can you use those explosive items as breaching charges if you're doing more covert operations?
You do understand you've basically ruined space warfare by inventing JesseNukes
So... Can you use those explosive items as breaching charges if you're doing more covert operations?
yes just need a way to set them off.I doubt an explosion constitutes covert ops. however a fun thing to do is booby trap a ship in the regular way with a thruster and warhead and just drop some explosives for a little extra punch. [editline]8th June 2014[/editline]
You do understand you've basically ruined space warfare by inventing JesseNukes
I simply upped the risks.I also did not invent them just refined the idea into what it is,the original concept was much lower yield and relied on small ship torpedoes hurled by momentum.
Are there any plans to make heat a factor in this game? How do I make the explosives? I only play creative SP so I don't know any of these fancy building techniques
fucking goddamnit the only way to stop these spacenukes is basically to have spaced armour and this space armour has to be so fucking spaced that it basically becomes a dyson sphere but with nothing on the inside
To be fair, in Survival these would be pretty expensive to make (to their full potential, anyway). Definitely more expensive than regular missiles which would be capable of causing just as much, if not more damage, only over a longer time.

Because if it takes more explosives to achieve the same yield as a warhead, it's probably a lot more economical in survival to invest in warheads for bomb-based extortion. And either way, unless someone's mad enough to invest in over a million explosives to ensure MAD if the victim fires upon the fleeing thief's ship, they'd be mad not to ensure the thief does not attempt it again.
so I just found out that there is an earth asteroid map on the workshop I'm going to spacenuke it for science
2000 explosives should give you the blasting power pictured above.
2000 for a 150m radius? That's pretty damn effective, actually. The point of being destroyed in retribution when out of range still stands, but I guess the victim won't truly know how many explosive you have, and might not want to take the chance. Assuming they know of the weapon and understand it's concept, that is.
so I just found out that there is an earth asteroid map on the workshop I'm going to spacenuke it for science
I bet it'll end like this:
Guys you're forgetting assault rifles exist, the victim can just pull one out and be done with the space terrorist in seconds
Guys you're forgetting assault rifles exist, the victim can just pull one out and be done with the space terrorist in seconds
But it has glass over the warhead.
But it has glass over the warhead.
I mean, shoot the person threatening you. I'm assuming this is survival mode, asking for resources on creative would be pointless [editline]9th June 2014[/editline] Or they could play it safe and stay behind glass, only open a window to reveal a ship full of explosives, with a collector mounted on the outside into which you're supposed to throw the resources :V
heres 2 ships i will contribute to the SpaceHulk cause [thumb]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/778308981190800533/5A68092B52C162365071AF66E82318545B164261/[/thumb]
I mean, shoot the person threatening you. I'm assuming this is survival mode, asking for resources on creative would be pointless [editline]9th June 2014[/editline]That would require a "fail deadly" approach meaning nothing is to stop you from firing a rocket at watching them vaporize on the way out. Or they could play it safe and stay behind glass, only open a window to reveal a ship full of explosives, with a collector mounted on the outside into which you're supposed to throw the resources :V
I'm just waiting for the part where everyone figures out how to make MIRV style torpedoes
This has really got me wanting to get into Survival Multiplayer, the megatorp is really only the latest in a line of potential warcrimes the Lamprey was my previous anti armor solution. [editline]8th June 2014[/editline]
I'm just waiting for the part where everyone figures out how to make MIRV style torpedoes
I have somewhat done that with limited success
Is there any way to procure explosive cargo for megatorps in creative? Looks fun, but not fun enough to spend half my lifetime grinding for resources.
Is there any way to procure explosive cargo for megatorps in creative? Looks fun, but not fun enough to spend half my lifetime grinding for resources.
Dupe a crate with some explosives and combine then dupe gain.
nevermind it's all over reddit, god damnit
considering a redditor invented it I think it's within their rights...
I am glad the wild speculation died down they had decided that the yield must be infinite without actual testing and were wanting it patched based on the misinformation.
i tried out the space nuke hahah hahahahah HOLY FUCKING SHIT YES THIS SHIT IS FUCKING INCREDIBLE i fired one at the stock blue ship a flash and then it was just gone not a trace it erased the better part of two asteroids before crashing on the third [thumb]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/576772803216758512/8527EFC374AB2837FCF654A15FE9DD0B1FEA1394/[/thumb] Ok so here there was a floating image of the asteroid that the game was convinced was still there [thumb]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/576772803216761852/E4DADE4A78D1BD6A3746872BA47BB93F7B7944CE/[/thumb] That's the asteroid it crashed on [thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/576772803216762544/1B89C1B498AC9F2F9655593BD1F925767737BAA5/[/thumb] and that's post-crash i took a little bit extra time and loaded the nuke with 1 billion explosives instead of that pussy ass 1 million [editline]8th June 2014[/editline] i wonder what it would do to the space hulk someone C+P the space hulk into a private sesh and try that shit out
awww what?? 2000 is enormous factors of magnitude shorter than the glorious 1.2 billion i had...
unless you figure out the limiting factor you in fact fire the 1.2 billion, and then watch your PC melt.
unless you figure out the limiting factor you in fact fire the 1.2 billion, and then watch your PC melt.
well i made it work like 5 times but then it finally caught up. If i killed everything else on my computer, i could get away with it forever.
