Im too busy tonight applying for jobs and finding a good overclock setting for my i5 to build a space nuke. But if someone sends me a world with a small/medium payload spacenuke Ill gladly nuke the spacehulk and record it.

i was trying nukes and none of them were working, so i was wondering what was wrong. I went to look at the asteroid a little closer and i noticed that it didnt actually exist anymore and the surface textures were just bugged. I broke the game with nukes.
these probably need nerfing.
Merge blocks are a bit wonky, even in singleplayer, I've had a ship I'm merging onto one side just warp over to the other symmetric side.
Just discovered that you can make magnetic couples with the merger blocks, that keep the ships magnetically connected, but not merged into one.

Although you have to really line it up right otherwise the weight offset on the CoM will make your craft pull to the side. The benefit with this is that you can lock the landing gear so that disconnecting the merger block doesn't make anything start hurtling off into space.

Yeah I'm getting that too, at first i thought it was a copy paste issue, but after rebuilding both halves from scratch, im finding it isn't the cause.
So, remember when I said i'd make this SS Greeble successor more sensible? That got chucked out almost immediately. I'm probably just going to go for the same overall shape as i'm unimaginative.
I'd also like to say making corners look nice is an absolute arseache. Definitely going to try to keep as many components accessible from the inside, though.
Unrelated, but anyone else having problems uploading multiple images to Imgur? Out of the 10 images I tried to upload, I got just one back. I'd prefer not to be cluttering my 1337upload account with short-term image uploads.

I keep running out of ideas to make floors look interesting, so I just keep defaulting to "make it spiky". Should I keep the floor as-is, revert to flat, or has someone any better ideas for it? I've basically thrown sanity out the airlock, so it doesn't need to look sensible, just aesthetically pleasing in one way or another.
I tried covering it with glass and removing the topmost spikes, but the glass has a tendency to just pop off at the slightest provocation, and it looks odd seeing the skybox reflection inside the ship.

No idea what causes it, but I get that frequently as well. Best bet is to just turn off auto-save, and keep trying the same merge, but with merge blocks arranged differently.

How about lots of catwalks above endless voids? or glass or random lights. Hell you could put random lights under glass. Or you could have a floor made from the top of a large missle array. Idk, random ideas.
I will be uploading my storage yard once my current ship is complete and I make necessary repairs to a couple of other ones.

Unpainted and unnamed, I kind of went a little wild with the ramp blocks trying to give it some ~shape~ but I'm not sure if it was to good effect.

These space nukes everyone is raving about are honestly very underwhelming, the way explosions work in space engineers just make them very unsatisfying to use. Instead of the explosions causing a shock wave it just disappears anything not strong enough to withstand the explosion in its radius of effect.
Seeing clean circular cutouts around the center of impact makes exploding things extremely dull and boring. I want to see shit being ripped from the main target and thrown about from the force of the explosion, or at least some visible movement in the craft they hit.

I agree the explosions are pretty tame its more the fact you can get the power of 333 warheads out of a small torpedo like that,I would love to see the nuke with proper physics.

I decided small load was pussy stuff, this is space hulk tier destruction.
Explosions should only vaporize things within a small radius, beyond that they should wrinkle/bend blocks and create cracks between them, allowing parts to be sheared off through general structural integrity failure.
