I just want a remote control module, then maybe antennas would be more than just decorative(unless they actually do something right now)
They're planned for communication range as he said in the interview not long ago.
What i wouldn't give for the KSP team to have the same drive as the space engineers team ...

But they do? They just don't do weekly updates because weekly updates usually result in fancy updates instead of functional ones, just look at overgrowth. Or the fact that we still have shitty netcode.
But they do?
That's a good one.
Yay, rotor copy and paste is finally fixed. Definitely the most exciting part of the update for me, it means I don't have to build turrets from scratch over and over and over again.

Item grouping is broken, though. At last my groups that consist of mixed or single items disappear randomly. Shit.
Wonder what Dirt Harry would think of this calibre

Dunno but I imagine he'd be like what the fuck to it being an 8 round cylinder.
yep my game's still broke.
gg keen. i am the 1%

Tried to contact support? Because if you haven't then your game will remain broken for a very long time :v:
Ive been putting off retrofitting the multiple-sawblade-ship-gutting ship since before heavy armor, but now with rotor copy/paste, the time has come.
I still haven't figured out how to play the game at all :v: anyone's got some sort of a group going that I can play with?
I like how we were all against shields being added but in reality they've been in the game since gravity generators were put in.
With grav gens now being adjustable we can easily have really strong gravity fields that only affect space a few meters off the hull that repel boarders and torpedoes.
Space Engineers is a game dedicated to working around the limitations of the game.

Also is there an FP server?
Still a bit sad they changed the design of the connector system from the dual port on large ship connectors. I designed a ship or two around the small (now ejectors) connectors being all you needed to connect to a large connector, even if it was just to move small stuff like ammo.

Repel Boarders? Maybe if they're just drifting with their jetpacks off, since otherwise gravity doesn't effect you.
Gravity fields also only effect torpedoes that have mass blocks powered and attached to them, so if you launch it via ship accelleration rather than gravity fields and a mass block, defensive gravity fields aint gonna do shit to stop them.
I made a multi porpouse prototype ship with three sets of tools. I used new connector functionality to have one (well... two actually) central container for storing components and ore. Unfortunetly because connectors have cargo space in them, the items collected with grinder or a drill get put into connectors untill they get full, so you have to move them manually afterwards. There is also a bug with merge block that causes the area grinded/welded to shift in relation to the tools.

The name of the ship is Toolbox.
Edit: That video ate through my dropbox limit. Could someone throw me an 1337upload invite?

I got the giant space revolver firing I like the idea of using multiple stacks of stones per crate as buckshot ,I am enjoying my new 8 shot gaint space shotgun now i just need to put it into a ship.
[editline]26th June 2014[/editline]
Also 125,000l of gold packs a punch.
I have become sidetracked in my revolving ship gun, currently trying to make shrapnel bombs.
make the whole ship a giant revolver gun
use groups containing the firing mechanism and a rotor for moving a giant trigger
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
then merge it with a giant spaceship man with folding/unfolding arms to grab these giant spaceguns from its waist
I wonder if it would be possible to create a gyroscopic cockpit (eg the B-Wing in Star Wars) using rotors and mass blocks? It would be interesting to give fighters (well, anybody using that specific ship) a true 'up' and 'down'.

I've made a small fragmentation rounds, mostly to be thrown at ships with turrets, just above the tracking speed (the 3m/s speed) to be shot at and then explode into pieces, either that or if the turrets miss them for whatever reason, they hit the ship, do minimal damage and fragment into 2-6 pieces depending on circumstances/speed.

Is the round itself, those uncomplete sections you see are normal armor ground down to about 30-40%, filled in the middle with warheads and the last part (to the rear, you cant see it well) is all heavy armor.
This is what it looks like when its exploded and split into its optimal amount of pieces.

Speed really determines how many pieces it fragments into as it can not fully break apart if tis going too fast.

no because you can't control your guns and thrusters from across a rotor
otherwise yes, assuming you only fly in gravity fields

I thought they added that in one of the latest updates.

Those are neat too. What i ended up works the same way as the space nuke, what I ended up making was my torpedo base with a container full of 1k piles of rocks so when it hits and enters the ship the rocks fly around and kill crew.
On another note that big as all hell LSG torpedo can be slimmed down considerably by placing the rock into a container and using the gravity propulsion drive to fling the rock one it impacts without having a complex gravity field cage and huge target.
Finally retrofitted the sawblade ship with heavy armor and rebuilt the internals.

Went for a bit of testing, and instant boner.

The heavy blades litterally cut through light armor and components like mayonaise. Remember when you first played SE and crashing ships together was the funnest shit ever? This is like that with a chainsaw and alcohol. Shredding that ship was one of the most satisfying things Ive done in SE, right up there with finishing the ulysses and high speed spaceship piracy. Tomorrow Im gonna make the saws modular so you can swap them out when damaged or use something more practical, like a grinder array, then put it up on the workshop.

Remember when you guys were telling me ramming was pointless?
I thought they added that in one of the latest updates.
They added so that electricity can go through rotors and that in a control panel maybe you could control stuff on the other side but you cant control thrusters or gyroscopes on the other side when in a cockpit.
Remember when you guys were telling me ramming was pointless?
I'm confused. Someone said ramming was pointless?
I remember seeing some screens where you could see the influence area of the gravity generators a while back. Is that in game or was it a mod?
