Tried it, it works and actually makes for a pretty damn stable turret that spins round.

Anyone notice some weird performance changes from the last few updates? It seems to whiplash from high FPS to pitiful chugging for no visible reason except having a block in hand and actively building things.

What i did with one of my test ships is have a merge block on the bottom of the ship and a mergeblock on the rotor facing up, Pretty much allows me to make it into a sort of turntable landing system, you land facing one way and then using the directional keys, spin around, undock and fly back out.

The Birdman is pleased.
Like for a large rocket attack ship, if you have one of these either side, yeah you can only aim up or down, but, you can attach rockets to them and that gives you some degree of control , sure you can only aim up or down, but it give s a bit more range of movement compared to having missle launchers attached only on your ship. You can only fire at whats in front of you if you only use one rotor, but you can aim up or down so you dont have to depend on what you're aiming at being smack in front of your shp.

Star Trek: Excelsior class 1:1 scale wip by me. Don't expect to see it released anytime soon both because of its size but also because I wont focus that much on it. With the excelsior, much like the other star trek ships I done; I am planning full detailed interior for it, taking more fps but its possible above 20 fps (for some) as it's a thin 469 meters long ship. Anyone else encountered a problem where Space Engineers will randomly crash your computer? It's the only game I'm having this issue with and every time it happens I have to do a hard reboot. When and where it happens is completely random apart from the fact that it will always happen within approximately one hour of playing. Seeing as it is as random as it is it's hard for me to pinpoint any likely candidates as to what's causing it, so I'm mostly throwing this out there to see if anyone else has had a similar problem.

Am I alone in thinking that Star Trek ship designs look really dumb and bad?
I've always had a thing for the Intrepid class because of Voyager but the Akira class is my all time favorite Star Trek ship.
