Great, just lost a save with several ships due to unknown corruption.
I left SE runniong in the back ground and my revolver ship floated off into deep space....oh well it was just a shell and the cylinders.

... I hate regular ticks enough, if I see one of these space ticks in a server, I'm making a damn space bird to eat them.

At this rate let's make a space zoo! I call Space Duck.

If they were just the saucers they would look better TBH

I call space alligator.
Shooting those off would not do more than remove the ships warp capability.
Their actual engines are mostly in the rear parts of the saucers which are impulse engines:

Those are most of the time red but color can be different on different ships, placement also sometimes different.
Whether or not they're sublight engines or warp drives is besides the point imo, they still look rather silly.

Or simply use cleansing nuclear hellfire.
Due to a treaty or some shit, none of their ships are allowed to be strictly for military purposes. They're all for exploration and have a shit load of people living aboard.
For living purposes or not, they don't have to look so fuck ugly.
Am I alone in thinking that Star Trek ship designs look really dumb and bad?
the designs themselves are good but they don't translate well AT ALL into SE

I hope that thing is covered in merge blocks.
Am I alone in thinking that Star Trek ship designs look really dumb and bad?
They were designed around a principle in-universe concept, rule-of-cool stuff came way later but still kept at least some of the original design principles.
These principles namely were that the nacelles were a compact alternate version of an alcubierre-white drive (they weren't the same but operated very similarly) and needed to be far out from the original ship's mainframe with clear sight-lines both forward and backwards of the ship to allow for a stable warp bubble.
The iconic shape of the ships were designed to create the most efficient warp bubble possible back when warp technology (in-universe again) wasn't as advanced.

I realize that, just first thing that came to mind, great progress by the looks of it by the way. Whatever it is it certainly looks like it could be added to our arsenal of strange space warfare.
Hm. Maybe when a facepunch server is up we could have certain events where you can only use 'engineered' melee weapons and such? Just an idea.

This is the best sort of space combat. I hope to see more of it.
Oh god I want to make one with grinder wheels on the end.
Actually I'll try that.
Copy-pasting the small/large ship rotor connections works properly too.

If i have time ill run tests and see what you can control through rotors, anyone able to put a larg ship rotor on a small ship yet? that rapid fire rocket pod would be nice on on a small ship.
Doesn't work as well in reverse, seems to just break off shortly after connecting
They'd look nicer imo if the engines weren't so far away and attached with the spacecraft equivalent of breadsticks.
In my opinion the galaxy class has the best nacelle design, a big curved section of hull that inclines back at a 30 or so degree angle. It doesn't really matter though, because in warp there isn't actually any stress on the nacelles or any other parts of the ship. In its warp bubble it's basically completely still, so they may as well be held on by breadsticks. :v:

I love how well this works even if its really simple.
Squeegy you have the frigate with the the torpedo system yes?can I see how you loaded the shells into the clip?
What is it?
Looks like a chop shop.
I just built some turrets my god its lovely they also hold up against my usual method of testing which is smack it around and see if it breaks and yes the chimera rotors are limited in travel but as you mentioned that could be a feature also they are copy pasteable with no issues.
The Birdman is pleased.
Wait huh what about me?
Looks like a chop shop.
Yeah it was a basic idea for a chopshop, thingy on the left grabs random salvage pushes it in the landing gear, then I deploy the grinder arm for scrap galore.

Set myself up a steam group will look into getting a server going once we have the numbers, expect it to go as smoothly as a trainwreck.
Whatever happened to the FP space hulk? How far along did that get finished?
I needed to overclock my i5 to continue working on it, but before I got around to doing that, I went on vacation, where I will be for another week yet. Im still working on other ships, but I wouldnt dare attempt rendering the space hulk on my laptop.
Wait huh what about me?
I also have the nickname The Birdman amongst friends I use it at times if I am talking in the third person.
how did you get the nickname
how did you get the nickname
Friends gave it to me over the fact I have used the same avatar for 8 or so years now.
