This game man, this fucking game. It's been long enough since a game made me play this long without getting bored. I'm already feeling the tetris effect kicking in.
If am right all NPC ships turrets radius is 600-700 so you can set yours to the max of 800 and just sit outside there range and allow your turrets to pick off there turrets turn off yours then go inside for what you want.
if you do it with small ship gattling guns you can completely dissable the turrets with minimal material loss.
Once again, alcohol and space engineers breeds to produce a beautiful child:

Unfortunately. this beautiful child has been more of a screaming angry toddler who doesnt do anything you tell her to.
Tell her to get rolling and she takes a solid 3 minutes to spin up.
Tell her to saw through a ship, and the single blade is more apt to grab the ship, and using all that damn momentum (max rpms mang) to fling it across the sector, scarring it horribly on the way.
Tell her to go someplace and the gyroscopic motion of the blade turns a simple rootation into "oh god how did i end up here send help".
Ill try swapping out the blade for dual single thick blades that counterrotate tomorrow when I can play and not have to spend a whole minute trying to rotate a piece of glass the right direction when all my rotation buttons are in wierd places on my laptop and ists dark and stuff.
So, apparently docking with a small ship connector breaks the groups on that ship.

for some reason this reminds me of an old TV show called battlebots...

There is actually an old game based on the concept of those shows called Robot Arena. Might have a sequel, can't remember. Anyway it's quite good.
I do feel like SE gets the same kind of vibe sometimes as improvised weaponry is sometimes just as (if not more) effective than traditional weaponry. Pretty funny to see ramming prows, sawblades, motorized smashing/hacking arms, etc. on a space ship.

Wasn't one of the most successful battlebots ever armed with what was basically a spatula?

I used to watch that shit
It influenced my gmod building back when good sandbox servers existed and we had super-outlaw demolition derbies. I often used crane hooks on hinges to grab enemy cars much like squeegy's space kraken. I also dragged meathooks behind my car on ropes and hid wire igniters under my bumper.

I believe the most successful was the one with a ramp on the front and the center of the ramp had hydraulic bits to flip other bots over, then it would push them into the flamethrowers and watch them cook, along with the hopes and dreads of the little kids piloting them.

Whats better then a sunday afternoon spent cooking the dreams of little children at a toasty 800F?

The RIN Sgriosach has been refitted with the impoved gun thanks to franken rotors.
Offensive capabilities:
8 Torpedo tubes suitable for nuclear or ballistic types
20 forward facing hull mounted missile pods
3 missile turrets,2 forward one aft
42 Gatling Turrets
18 rocket pod main gun
It is heavily Armored, has a powerful gravity drive ,features maintenance access ways ,and back up reactors .
I still am waiting for some more space-y weapons. Space won't be space untill I have phaser banks and photon torpedos, perhaps even a disruptor.
Apparently quite a few people would rather we make our own weapons with engineering, and some even say that the ones we have are too "easy" as it is. I doubt sci-fi weapons are going to be met with a warm welcome.
I want them to add cannons or railguns as a weapons for Large ships as an alternative for not having the gatling guns for them like small ships do. It would fit with their realism aspect that they are going for instead of beam or energy weapons. Also I have been watching too much Battlestar Galactica recently and have fallen in love with the weapons on the Galactica.

I would like railguns to an extent, yeah, if they were the modular kind that would start out basic and be really expensive to make more powerful. Coilguns and railguns are very much within the realm of reality, especially in the near-future world of Space Engineers.
Some sort of big chemical projectile weapon would make me happy. A tank gun or something along those lines. More barrel blocks = higher speed, less spread = more damage, better accuracy.

Well, the turrets are, imo a bit too strong currently, they're way too accurate and fast tracking, if they just missed more or were more easily outturned by lighter craft, they'd be better.
I don't think the NPC ships in Starmade have enough thrust to lift off the planets with the default ships. I've accidentally gone through planet atmospheres in my largeish ships and gotten pinned to the ground :v:
I've flown the default ships and they do have enough thrust to escape. The AI just aren't written to counteract any forces acting on them, such as gravity.
The dev's discussed a few things which were mind blowingly awesome, shitty thing is that i cannot share it but i can do tell that for a loooong time the dev's will not sit still or anything.
The happy userbase is what makes them going!
darth-verger, tell them to, under NO circumstances ever, fix the rotor bug that lets us connect small stators to large rotor bases! Best unintentional feature of the game.
They should just get rid of the small ship/large ship thing and instead let us choose the size of the block we want to place, so that we could attach small blocks to large ones and vice versa, I'm pretty sure someone made a mod like that, too

That might be the update darth_veger talked about, or programming, or something else.

Best robots of all time. The fact that Chaos 2 easily flung robots out of the arena was amazing, especially when you consider that those robots aint small.
I'm kind of new at this, I bought the game awhile ago but lost interest. Now I'm back and am really enjoying the survival game mode. I started a single player game, is it possible to save the map and use it for coop with a friend?

I say we make robots like these on a platform with a gravity generator
So if a robot flungs one out of the arena, it just drifts in space indefinitely
