This is some crash course bug testing,seems to be going as planned.
To be honest, really, it should be, you get in your cockpit, set that cockpit to being yours and set the availability options, and everything else that is connected to it (with the exception of being connected by connectors) is classed as yours as long as your cockpit remains intact. Same with large ships, as long as you've always got one cockpit connected to the rest of the ship, everything connected to it is classed as being owned by whoever first set it in the cockpit.
So like if your ship got blown to pieces/in half or whatever, anything that is now not connected to your cockpit, is set as being unowned.

but it's cool how you can set things separately, like having a crate your faction can take from without letting your entire base be picked dry :v:

That functionality makes sense, but imo it should be: setting the faction of your cockpit determines the faction of the entire ship, (until its seperated), then on a individual object basis you set the allowance, with the default for all being none.

As nice as that is (as only a model), small ships are still missing a seat that could actually control the ship.
With hand rests that have some tiny controls on them or such.
I'm not talking about directly placing the 5x5x5 small ship block Cockpit 3 from large ships with a cut off front screen on small ships. Its the adding of normal hand rests to the passenger seat model, which would keep its required size box at the same size.
To make the small ship seats more convenient to place there should be a selection in between the 3 width and 2 width, Because the astronaut model fits in 2 small ship block width, but not the collision model. The chair would also fit in that width. Then selecting between them using some bind that the devs pick.
Don't really know how hard that dynamic option would be to have added, just hope that its totally possible.

Small ship with a gravity drive is somewhat a failure,it works but its huge and it doesnt perform well enough warrent the materials it needs.

I'd really like it if you could have a spawner of some kind, a lot of ships are using physical projectiles rather than just missile launchers and guns, it would be nice to be able to reload without getting out, remaking the projectile, and then getting back into the ships controls

I did it again but bigger.
All the old tools and four new ones, a rocket launcher, a solar panel (because I couldn't make a corkscrew fit without leaving a gap), a 'force beam' which is really just a gravity gen on a stick and a magnifying glass, which is one of the tools that didn't fan out when I took the screenshot.
with the new update i decided to start a new game with 1 times refinery speed and assembler efficiency and also install a custom skybox with the realistic lighting setting.
it completely changed the way i play.
no more speeding through asteroids, now i have to creep through the black abyss so i dont crash headlong into a wall.
lights are mandatory now and it is awesome.

it's doable but unless your projectile is 100% non-explosive it's extremely dangerous because if one piece of it decides it's going to clip just a little bit the inside of your ship is now broken open

Invent either better bullets or a better way to store them.
I currently use a small ship-based bullet that has an outer shell made of heavy armor with a light armored tip, filled to the brim with warheads. When it hits the target, the tip of the bullet crumples, causing the payload to explode. As an added bonus, the heavy armor tends to survive the explosion of the payload, so there isn't much harm done to things behind the bullet. Worst i've had happen so far is the loading vehicle used to test it had its landing gear blown off.

I wish lights didn't murder performance so much, because the game looks brilliant with the reduced ambient lighting.
I decided to build a new capital ship for the first time in a while using the AAA modpack. I'm deliberately adding weakpoints so it might actually be fun to fight against in a more nimble vessel.

i hope keen makes thruster effects non hardcoded in the future.
i love the armored thrusters and titan thruster mods but the no-glow gets to me.

I'm just wondering, do you play with or without cargoships?
So despite being a lurker to the highest degree I figured I'd post for once.
Made this ship months ago, kept debating whether or not I should post it- wasn't sure how well some lurking dude dumping images
would be received.
Anyway, this is my Gjellar class corvette, I haven't gotten around to painting it but I will eventually do so.

Sorry about the picture quality, Steam isn't kind to screenshots. If you guys are interested I can post the interior bits as well, building it was a great deal of fun.
That is an awesome looking ship, Lifeslicer. It has so much more detail that a lot of my ships have I have posted here which had a lot of flat, square hulls compared to your ship.
if that's a corvette i want to know how huge a carrier or battleship would be
