Done yet another video (with a couple minor improvements) for a basic rotor powered door that shuts flush (done a million times, I know, but hadn't seen this particular design style around, or if I have, I've forgotten it!) [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNps1MkyRyw[/media] The armor does get a bit dented because of the nature of blocks next to each other, but after the intial deformation, it sorts itself out by benig deformed slightly and not impacting itself.
Does anyone else have a problem with their movement controls locking up occasionally or getting stuck moving in one direction? I've been working on my ship all day today and it has gotten frequent and is extremely frustrating. Mouse works totally fine it only seems to affect my keyboard, never had this issue in any other games.

Probably going to make the towers sticking out to the side thicker as well, those are too thin and the wing bits coming forward are too thick.
On the bright side, I hope Keen are going to start getting a lot more money now.

It should hopefully still remain flush, while the ramp block won't deform. It'll also leave the impression of a door I suppose.
rammed my ship with a copy. Took only cosmetic damage on the rammer, but the other ship almost got torn in two. The gravity engine is gone. I believe interior turrets target you though.

Was trying to make a Star Trek ship using a gravity drive yesterday only to learn that gravity drives are a pain in the ASS. I probably lost like 2 of them due to the inventory screen failing or power not shutting down. Also they always turn up or down from the mass being pushed against the center of mass at a wierd angle.

i am so terrible at making ships especially in survival, they all end up being boxes :--/
imagine what you want it to look like and lay out the skeleton of the superstructure first.
