Was trying to make a Star Trek ship using a gravity drive yesterday only to learn that gravity drives are a pain in the ASS. I probably lost like 2 of them due to the inventory screen failing or power not shutting down. Also they always turn up or down from the mass being pushed against the center of mass at a wierd angle.
Usually my ships are built around engineering reactors G. Drive gyros, makes the layout easier.

Has anyone played around with the space engineers toolbox. I created a new map with about 3x the max amount of asteroids you can get by default. Some space about 20 -30 k away giving me something to explore. Takes about 5 mins to load the map but once im in theres no performance issues i can see.
I've got one world that's around a hundred asteroids, I honestly forgot, spaced around six to thirty kilometers apart It takes fuckin' ages to load and save but it's pretty fun stuff I do know that generating too many asteroids with it at once will result in very broken asteroids
Did Space Cop 2 ever come out? It's like waiting for HL3 all over again.
Yeah, you can't really put the gravdrives in the nacelles unless you manage to shift the centre of mass way higher than it should be.
Put a grav drive in each nacelle and one in the disk section. Grav drives really dont have to be that big or complicated.
I did a forum game thing, stole the idea from here though. Ok, so on multiplayer matches, whenever I get out of the command seat of the starting ship, everything breaks for me. I can't get anything on the toolbar, I can't open doors, and I can't get back into the command seat. No one else on the servers are having this problem. What gives? EDIT: Either this, or it's taking a really, really long time to load anything at all.

Does anybody here know what do I need to break in MyEffectAntiAlias.fx to disable antialiasing? I want to use a SMAA injector instead, FXAA is gross
I didn't even notice, they snuck in centered grill windows.*
I didn't even notice, they snuck in centered grill windows.
what?
what?
they snuck in centered grille windows.
what?
*They snuck centered grill windows into the game without me noticing.
*They snuck centered grill windows into the game without me noticing.
what?
They snuck grills
the non angled shutter windows that the game used to have as the only form of window now have a version with a centered justification instead of on the edge of a block? :v:
*They snuck centered grill windows into the game without me noticing.
Oh hell they did too. On another note restarted my Birmingham Class Battleship with engineering and frame work as well as main thrusters its only 19m KG as opposed to the previous attempt that put it to 47m as just a frame.
Well, I think I'm making my biggest ship yet, 75.5x45x195m 5174 blocks (for the 1 layer thick outer shell only) and weighing in at 4.5 millionkg (Light armor mostly, some heavy armor but not all that will be present) and thats just the outer shell, none of the interior is done yet!
you can't say this and not show images :v:
It's not done yet, but fine, will take screenies ina moment, the shell itself is hardly even done, just the basics. [editline]15th July 2014[/editline] Incoming Images, with the Red ship for scale reference. Side on (The engines at the side are only temporary) The heavy armor bits at the top are the entrances/exits to the main hangar bay, the lower bits will be an ancillary hangar used to store ships while on the move: [thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/38595391428527886/EB755EB7E9139F6F14133479930D632F24052249/[/thumb] Rear Engines, although I have a feeling I'll be needing more. Posting some pics of my updated space station from earlier [thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/36344320154713758/56C7E77B433F5F73360E02F3D248FA633E5B19B2/[/thumb] [thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/36344320154663573/2CE872217A8EA34C7AF10DCCF03DDA6F29782FE2/[/thumb] [thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/36344320154662084/1F5281436DF8F09623CD84A6E25A2F76FBEAF562/[/thumb] [thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/36344320154664344/423874C5A6893A3C3013B0E8C28D1078EC31691D/[/thumb] [thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/36344320154660993/79CBD188C2F6DD14819F169FA7EE047F0BB18A06/[/thumb] All I really need to do now is finish the docking bridges and paint the damn thing, but I'm terrible with paint jobs.
I love the non-bulky layout, I usually try for a similar approach with my free-floating stations.
Some kind of interview going on http://www.gamespot.com/videos/space-engineers-now-playing/2300-6420245/ [editline]16th July 2014[/editline] Batteries in tomorrow's update, also antennas will have a purpose Pistons in the next week's update

Rails is what we need. Some solid Rails. If we have that then we can make just about everything now.
