Man I loved that cartoon..
Apparently you can ctrl click on some of rotor sliders and an input box will appear. Kind of an unlisted feature
Tried stacking a piston on another piston and putting a drill at the end. Turns out that's a good way to create shrapnel, but not such a good way to mine. Lost the drill, the piston, and nearby solar panels and bulletproof glass panels. Actually amazed I survived, considering how close I was.

I keep getting a problem where pistons just stop doing anyting at all, they just extend or retract then refuse to do anything after that as if they have siezed.
awesome
shame its kinda vulnerable to the magazines cooking off

this was explicitly shown in one of the update videos.

Eh it works for them I guess It got me motivated to make another ship which is really important as I havnt built one in a couple weeks.
I spent 5 hours on a mining bore in survival, then by accident I destroy a block which breaks the whole thing in half, quit and don't save so it doesn't save it
oh
my
god

For next time:
1.) Save.
2.) Change the save to creative mode.
3.) Ctrl+X on a face on one half of the broken ship to cut it.
4.) Ctrl+V on the equivalent face on the other half of the broken ship to paste the first half back on.
5.) Save.
6.) Change save back to survival mode.
Unless I'm missing something obvious, that should work.

I am sorry for your loss, though.
rotor displacement adjustment does fuck all?

i heard you have to restart the save

awww yis, thanks mate
I have a good portion of my new battleship layed out I am very pleased with how the man forward thrust turned out I took some design cues from the Motoko and it looks awesome.

Foreground:stacked thrusters still kind of work.
Bckground:The armored thrusters of my soon to be named battleship.

huh which one
Pistons have solved my "can't escape from the connectors safely" problem. I have landing gear on pistons on either side of the connector on my small ship. I extend them, get in range, lock them, then retract the pistons. Then I lock the connector and do my business. Then unlock the connector, extend the pistons, unlock the landing gear, and done. Programming would make this a lot easier. Especially since P doesn't lock landing gear that are attached by pistons.
Too bad pistons don't work in MP, I'm trying to put some NX-01-esque shuttle bay doors on my station, which is being built inside an asteroid shaped like the Bentusi tradeship.

couldnt have landing gear on either side of the piston with the connector on the end? they can treansfer items through from what i gather .

That may work on a larger ship, but not mine. I'd have to have the landing gear sticking out too far past the end of the ship. It's a very compact mining ship, so stuff sticking out gets broken off. Also, I don't know if a small ship piston can hook up to the back of a connector, because of the door size. Would work fine with a large ship, though.
huh which one
i can't remember the update it was in but i distinctly remember them showing the engineer walking up to a console, and adjusting the rotor with inputs like that.
It was last week's update.
what happened to the centred slat windows? did I hallucinate their existence?

I swear they were there too.
I think I saw people complaining that the batteries replaced their item slot
Is anyone else having 403 on their forums?

It's funny because I'm using an HTC One :v:

Surprised there wasnt more hype leading up to it.
I kinda wish they'd do another bugfix/performance optimizations week, this game has no business running at 30 fps on a rig that can run Crysis 3 on max settings at 50+fps

Pistons could use a tweak,I would rather more implimentation than optimization at this point.
