It's no wonder people accuse you of being NoDachi's alt.
If that's the accusation I get for being right I won't take that as the slurr you intended :v:

There hasn't be a whisper of complaint against those who wanted Keen to also focus the dev team on making a linux version.
Linux is frequently used to host dedicated servers.

To be fair the actual article wasn't worded as good as it could have been. Seems to be just you here that seems to think otherwise.
In other news, if the Xbone version gets split-screen, it'd lead to some cool local dogfights. If local split-screen doesn't face the same issues as multiplayer currently does.

When they say EXCLUSIVELY for shitbox one. I instantly assumed that PC development was either being dropped or delayed whilst they made the console variant.
It's merely a matter of perception to how a person reads and processes what is written down. I guess it becomes rather hit or miss if you either take it in as it's purposed, or if it is misinterpreted.
Hold on a second... I could see some good coming out of this.
If this is becoming an Xbox One Exclusive, doesn't that mean Microsoft is going to be pushing Keen for a higher standard of quality?
I wonder if we'll start seeing fixes to a lot of the physics bugs and multiplayer issues, similar to what happened to Minecraft after it was ported to the 360.
Keeping in mind that communication is still something Keen needs to work on, you can tell they didn't mean they were dropping PC for a year once it soaks in a little. If you're unfamiliar with them, the statement seems a lot more concrete.

Well if you're still naive and immature to throw around words like shitbox I'm not surprised you thought that.

Keen is already working at a pretty high standard of quality - this is an alpha remember.

Right, because placebo words for another in the essence of opinion and comedic value, be it personally or audience orientated is entirely indicative of mentality and mental frame.

Well there is this field in academia called Linguistics - so yeah probably.

I...what? I don't get it.
Still in essence of topic. People read things differently regardless of how well it is written, considering it wasn't entirely clear in the article, in regards to my own personal perception of it, and I'm sure many others also, it's bound to cause confusion and illogical knee jerk reactions.
so pretty much what I said with

Not entirely but for the sake of ease and agreeing to disagree. Sure.
quietly optimistic
but, at the same time, I have NEVER heard of a company say "this change won't affect the development of X" with regard to platform changes and had it actually be true
I've heard the One and the PC are fairly similar architecture-wise. Hopefully, they'll work on using and improving the same engine, rather than doing what Minecraft did and keeping the same, shitty engine for PC whilst it runs smoothly on consoles.
ENTITLEMENT ENTITLEMENT ENTITLEMENT
Jesus fucking christ, it's getting worse than the Halo thread in here right now.
wow I saw 58 posts and thought a suprise update happened, but nope its just some shit claiming were all entitled because we were worried that it would slow progress overall.
My main worry is that the pc devs will be force to focus on features and implementations that can also work on a console port. Which will degrade overall quality.
Gentry, stop beating the horse already.
People perceive things differently, its been pointed out.
Its also now mutually understood that the game is going to continue development as normal, so please don't threadshit and leave the argument alone.
oh look, it's the entitlement buzzword being flung around by people who don't even know what it means
pls stop and/or go away
I don't know but if your first thought at reading that was "Well they're totally dropping the PC platform, that is incredibly obvious that that is exactly what's going to happen here" without waiting for anything else to be said or any other info, then you're at LEAST being a reactionary.
I feel like if you're really ready to bitch the second you read a headline, entitlement might be the right word.
Well if nothing else at least it got the thread moving again, eh? :v:
thread exlax
Sooo about that game were supposed to be talking about...
More cash for the Devs to develop the game is awesome! :D Can't wait to see what's in this weeks update.
Do turrets track stones? They'd be a pretty good diversion if they did.

Only if they're set to attack moving objects.
Hmm if they pull it off right it could work best for both parties. Keen's been paying very close attention to their fans and if they try to fuck us over, they're done.
It could work for both because they need to do some serious optimizations for the xbox. No longer can the game take up as much ram as it damn well pleases, and hopefully that will carry to the pc. This also means they'll streamline programming for ships (if they do ever add it) which, again will hopefully carry over. Among other things such as making the block placement tool less retarded.
Are there any mods to make building in asteroids more lenient? It's super annoying trying to build an asteroid base when the game won't let you put blocks into areas that are more than ~50% rock, which leaves awful looking gaps.
