REMOTE CONTROL DRONE TIME
So these buttons means we can finally build missile tubes with self-propelled torpedo's right? Instead of having to awkwardly launch them. Imagine the possibilities.
Remote access is definitely a cool thing. You can't really [I]fly[/I] anything remotely, though, just manipulate the control panel. Been playing around with gyro overrides. When combined with hotkeys, it's a wonderful way to control turrets from inside a ship without screwing around with rotors. Just turn the rotors off and control the turret from the gyro override. It took me a while to figure out that the toolbar only displays the current override setting in whole numbers, so you hit the key over and over again and it doesn't look like it's actually doing anything. Kinda lame, I can't tell when it's set to full stop zero, or just one of the three or four fraction settings. You have to go into the control panel to see the actual value. It's super clunky, but you can still aim and fire multiple turrets without leaving the bridge to go physically sit in a turret.
Oh wait nevermind, figured it out.

I'm guessing something is either up with modded thrusters or my game but I can't seem to control thrusters that are on either Rotors or Pistons other than changing the override.
Now if they only would add some kind of timers and motion detectors, my life would be complete

I now want to build a space-tanker.
So, I fooloshly began building a Carrier....the hangar alone is 130m in length and 55m in width at least, and thats mostly just the very basic outline. It also has a fun launch mechanism where the launch pads rotate 45 degrees and then the fighter shoots out from there, thats mostly all it consists of right now. That'd be cool.[/QUOTE] I hope if that happens you'll get a subtle static effect on your screen when remotely flying something, and it gets worse and worse the closer you get to the antenna's max broadcast range, and you can't even see anything past it, not just "Oh you lost connection" and back to the player. That'd be so goddamn cool imo
I'd love to be able to make my ships npc driven. I've got all these cool ships but theres only one of me to drive them.

I have a whole bunch of merge blocks I want to assign to toolbar buttons in a flight seat, but none of them are showing up in the menu when I press "G". If I add them all to a group, the group will show up, but not the individual blocks. Is there a way to control what all shows up on the "G" menu when sitting in a cockpit?

Flying unmanned ships should give a few downsides to flying manned ones, otherwise everyone would just sit in their super stations and only launch unmanned drones. Also, the camera block would great for remote guided missiles, and you could stick it on some motors if a larger area of sight is needed.
