well since the engine is their and new (which is really rare when talking about FPS games), if they didn't code it, it's not there, duh
it's not like you code every single gfx thing known to man first and then build a game around it
But they had transparency in since the very first release? Small ship cockpits always had dirt and stuff around the windows, I don't even know where this "the engine doesn't support transparency" shit came from, because it definitely wasn't one of the developers

as I understand it the dirt is different since its still 100% vs 0% opacity, where as the transparency for windows is a partially translucent texture
besides, I'm pretty sure the devs did mention it was an engine limitation at the time

Guys, stop arguing about the Engine! We've had this before and all it did was take up two pages and not get anywhere.
Just get back to business and post ships and discuss the last update and speculate about next week's.
It's always funny to see people who don't know a thing about programming talking shit about game devs or "engine limitations".

That's completely understandable, but they devs made it out to the community in a way that it was [I]not possible[/I] to have an alpha channel.

I can't give any information out but for all you LSG types, kepp your eye on Blockade Runner.
SE is SE and not much is really going to change. Blockade Runner however is really early in development and the devs have some really nice ideas coming along. Watch their space.

but facepunch isn't the LSG types thats his shitty fanbase, I find some of his stuff interesting but mind you there are very few fans of LSG here.

I don't mean to talk shit about Blockade Runner, but I'll be really surprised if that ever comes out. It's one of those games that's been "WIP" for several years - whereas with Space Engineers progress is happening before our eyes.

It's slow moving but that doesn't mean it's dead.
Are you a founder? If not then you can't really comment on how things are doing - not trying to be insulting but there's a lot going on with blockade runner.

You've got to hand it to them though, being this dedicated on their first project. Hell they're all way out of their comfort zones and what they;re doing is really impressive.
Some SE players would be jealous of some of the features.

They are a bit big yeah..
However I'd rather try them out first before jumping to conclusions and calling them dumb.
I don't need to try it out to know it's dumb? There's very few good ways to use fixed-mounting guns and you can't really do it with this because it's so obscenely large, if it were two or even three times smaller it'd be ideal, though.
I can see where you're coming from and somewhat agree. I just disagree with the fact your so quick to dismiss and boycott it. At least give it a chance.
