Its happening.
I wish they would add some sort of elevator/turbolift type block. The piston is just too finicky for such tight spaces, and you can't go sideways.
I made a mining ship today that uses spherical gravity generator to pull debris towards a connector. It doesn't quite work the way I wanted it to

I have a cargo box with a conveyor connecting it to a connector, with the connector set to throw out, yet none of the ore is moving from the cargo box to the connector.
What's wrong with that set up?

Also, how about when you edit the properties of anything it gives you an overview of the ship, as if you were in third person mode.
Editing gravity generators fields is basically trial and error because you're confined to looking at the control panel while you edit it.

I wish lights would actually work like lights and not just illuminate a small sphere around themselves.
i could see some kind of visual/shaders mod being really good with this game. i tried getting sweetFX working a while ago but you can't turn off antialiasing yet so it ctd's every time

I swear I tried to make a small ship.
I armed it with a mac cannon in the front, but throwing a lot of rocks doesn't really do all that much damage versus missiles.

I wish they weren't taking a whole block's space too. I want to place them behind grates and such and doing so is a hassle

On the plus side, they have like 0 performance impact because of that. It shows pretty well how badly optimized SE is for larger-than-vanilla ships though. They work well in lines in small corridoors but other than that...

Rock throwers are weird. The rocks ping off harmlessly at first, then they absolutely obliterate the ship.
I was just testing out my rock cannon on the front of the blue ship and the rocks kept bouncing off the grating then coming back into my gravity field, then the grates break, the rocks go through and tear off the middle of the ship
So uh, how do you enter values for things using the keyboard again? I don't remember which update added that and I can't be arsed looking through all of the videos, and clicking or right-clicking the values does nothing

They're pretty useless right now, I haven't tested them but I'm pretty sure even a fart would break them. I just wanted to get them on the workshop as soon as I could. I'll make sure they're up to scratch on Thursday.

Actually I was thinking armor blocks and sloped armor blocks with spacemen strapped to them, sort of like this:

The real advantage of rock throwers is preventing your enemies from moving around their ship.
Welp, I did it, I turned my FSU small ship into a big version, it's now really a space submarine!
It's got Periscopes, a small gravity drive to help with acceleration, though not that much, it's kinda slow, although thats part by accident and part on purpose, since it's a long range hunter, speed isn't that essential, it's got decent turning though. Also no player made torpedos, just launchers, because too much pissing around for too little results.
