designing ships around what they're supposed to carry is SO much easier than starting with the hull and then attaching the payload. wip shot of a ship that literally does not exist yet [t]http://i.imgur.com/FQD10Yc.png[/t]
It's not that easy at all. You have to identify "rooms", you have to figure out if block damage is enough to create an opening, and then you have to model the actual flow. And all this without slowing the game down. Not a trivial task.
You need to stop saying words if you don't know enough about the subject. I built my own little script ages ago for a game that never got off the ground(in fact, I think I was actually inspired in this thread). This was in Unity in JavaScript. I set it up in a 10,000x10,000x10,000 cube of cubes on my i3 desktop and it did run at 45 frames per second until the pressures equalised, where it jumped up to 70. On an i3. Written in JavaScript by a bit of a moron who actually isn't very good at programming. Now use an actually good language like C# and someone who is good at programming and it would be nearly trivial by comparison. [editline]20th September 2014[/editline]
You do know that someone in this very forum came up with a way of modelling atmosphere's in this game using C# a few months ago? Of course it was outside of the game but theoretically, his method would work. For the life of me I can't remember who it was.
I don't know about C# but maybe you're thinking of me?
I don't know, someone came up with a model in mathlab anyway, I may be mistaken about the C# C+ whatever thing I mentioned.

I have a serious issue I want more mods but my G menu cant fit any more.
Is there some kind of tutorial resource? I played the game again for the first time in a long while today and I'm totally lost.
Is there some kind of tutorial resource? They look neat

i finished my airlock for my main hanger and i like how it came out. [t]http://i.imgur.com/5bMUhqy.png[/t]
Oh shit bro, mods list please?

I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of building large ships that look nice. [t]http://i.imgur.com/5bMUhqy.png[/t]
maybe I should try smaller hangars like this one

Huh, I was actually just looking at those mods today, considered getting them but wanted to try out other things instead.
Thats hot.
I made an album of other pictures, in case anyone wants to see. http://imgur.com/a/nV8ZH I also didn't realise there was a set of stairs inside the reactor room tearing the place up.
Man, I made this awesome ship with a detailed interior, engines, and a good looking hull only to draw a complete blank on the cockpit. Now that brought the whole ship look down. I think i'll just cut the whole cockpit off and build a new nose and a cockpit on the top of the ship.
No cockpit. Only cameras.
-snip, ninja'd-
i finished my airlock for my main hanger and i like how it came out. [t]http://i.imgur.com/5bMUhqy.png[/t]
Mods are great, too bad even medium ships with those mods lag like there's no tomorrow
Mods are great, too bad even medium ships with those mods lag like there's no tomorrow
I have a dream, that I can make voyager 1:1 with full custom mods to make it look nice and not have it lag like I am simulating existence.
Mods are great, too bad even medium ships with those mods lag like there's no tomorrow
I currently have 67 mods installed I really dont notice any performance loss and I in no way build anything small. [editline]22nd September 2014[/editline] http://forums.keenswh.com/post/mod-gmenu-expansion-6949606 for those like me where there is never enough blocks have this.
-Snip- I should read the latest posts, ahaha. In any case, I'm still having problems designing anything that doesn't look like something I've already made.
I love the ease of installing skyboxes that also make the ambient light much darker. [editline]edit[/editline] I've also found myself falling into the same trap as I did with Gmod i.e. downloading practically every single model in existence because I keep thinking "I might find a use for it"
so i got a multiplay dedicated server and was poking around the config and apparently "RealisticSound" is a thing and it disables like 80% of the sounds and seems unfinished (with the construction sounds still working) but i really hope it takes the Shattered Horizon direction with only audible sounds being of things that you touch directly, that game was ridiculously cool when it comes to space things
Installed or actually used in the save? :v: Also whats the point of that mod if G menu was expanded in the vanilla game?
Used in a save. You can still overflow the G menu the 4 mods I don't have installed overflow the menu by 20 blocks.
Does this game have Oculus Rift support? Because that would be fucking amazing if it did.
Does this game have Oculus Rift support?
