They just recently allowed asteroids to be detected with sensors, I made an auto-miner in survival and it worked pretty well until the sensor didn't trigger a second time and it just flew off into the distance.
A few things;
Functions NEED to be able to be mapped to the numpad. Controlling a Warpship using a straight line of buttons isn't fun.
Functions NEED to have a toggle/momentary option. I don't always want a toggle button, maybe I just want a button to momentarily activate a grav field.
Cockpits ought to have an option to be able to map functions to the WASDQE buttons instead of the thrusters.
Speed limit needs to be doubled AT LEAST.

You can exceed the speed limit, the thing is the physics break after that point.

The problem with that is the gun turrets on the ships, I can never get close even in a ship since they destroy me too fast.

they don't shoot at the engineer if he's moving slower than 5 m/s iirc so you can just go slowly towards it

I just figure out the direction its moving and just park my butt in its path and let it come towards me. Sometimes you gotta time a quick acceleration to avoid being roadkilled by it, though.
Interesting. I dont know if it's a glitch or not, but after deleting the shield blocks, the shield is still there, just invisible. Which means, my ship is no longer fuck ugly and is still protected.

If you shoot the turrets (or have turrets that shoot for you) then that problem is negated. In fact, if you saw my spud-interceptor up above, you'll notice that my solution to having enemy turrets attack me was to load so many turrets onto the thing that even when one turret is being shot up, all the others are focusing on taking out the enemy turret that's dishing out the fire.
With some accuracy couldn't you theoretically take control of a turret on your ship, match speed with the drifter just outside of it's turret range range and shoot out it's turrets or would that be too difficult?

Not at all,you could possibly use interior turrets to avoid collateral damage as well.
I really want an option to control thrusters and gyros across rotors, as in with the mouse and keyboard as if you're there
Yeah thrusters/rotors being linked to chosen keys would be nice
I might like gyroscopes taking a backseat to thrusters being used for attitude control.
ok is there any fucking reason why you can't use remote control blocks that are across a rotor?
I mean is there any logic to this arbitrary restriction at all?
am I doing something wrong or is there really no way to make turrets controllable from the bridge without some kind of convoluted connector attachment

Are you trying to activate the remote control block while sat in a cockpit on the bridge? IIRC you can't control remotely, something on the end of a turret if you're in a cockpit, but iirc you can from a passenger seat.
Is there still no way to rebind keys? Even through a file or something? I find myself constantly pressing Q due to Gmod habits.
Also the use of the mouse wheel to scroll through blocks would be nice.

Uhh you could always rebind most controls from the options menu, and you can set LCtrl to crouch/down as well in \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\SpaceEngineers.cfg, though unfortunately you can't change the "draw line" key so it'll act as both.

Fuck, I fly my rocket gunship to a cargo ship off in space, try and destroy the turrets with my rockets from a distance, then move in and latch onto it with my landing gear and then commandeer it, but I get taken out by a rocket turret in one shot and killed. I couldn't even salvage the remains, they're lost somewhere in space.

You know what skybox mod I'd like to see? a skybox mod so that you're inside an impossibly massive asteroid, and there's a hole in it that light enters from.

Better than how I've captured all of my cargo ships so far (which is flying right up to it without any sort of ship at all and hope that most of my face survives long enough to hijack the thing).
I have managed to capture a couple of ships, though, so it's not a terrible idea. Just extremely dangerous and difficult.
I spoke to that YouTuber on Facebook about the video of the kid claiming Da_gooze's ship. He decided to remove it.
Would have preferred him to just change the description and add annotations but hey ho.
