why? is spess engineers too serious for it?

eh, not really but if the devs have to showcase it someone might get offended (the horror).
I honestly may try writing the short story since 95% of the writing on the official forums is the really cringey spacefleet shit and thats probably what most of the submissions will be

I really pity the people who have to vet/judge the submissions.
...What exactly is being submitted, again?
Ideas for objectives/scenarios in order to give players something to do besides... Whatever they're currently doing that's made this game popular.
I hope they don't switch the game focus purely to objectives and that they leave creative/survival sand-box as an option, as I rather like the Minecrafty feel of "You're in space, harvest resources to make cool stuff. If you can't be arsed to harvest resources, there's an option to turn you into a technomagical block-shitting space-fairy. Have fun!"
Oh god, I can imagine people wanting there to be some kind of story or something, all sorts of extraneous bullshit.
Spaceengineers patch 1.6 will contain the end where you fight the ender dragon,Confirmed.
In-Game programming will allow you to do this.
One of the first things I plan to create is a simplified library for non-programmers to do exactly this with a few lines.
A few things;
Functions NEED to be able to be mapped to the numpad. Controlling a Warpship using a straight line of buttons isn't fun.
Functions NEED to have a toggle/momentary option. I don't always want a toggle button, maybe I just want a button to momentarily activate a grav field.
Cockpits ought to have an option to be able to map functions to the WASDQE buttons instead of the thrusters.
Speed limit needs to be doubled AT LEAST.
I think the small blocks might be bugged?
I complained a while ago about the blast door blocks not actually having reduced collision boxes but it seems the collisions on all the small blocks are about 5% too large
Well.

exhibit a:

both sides were made as part of a single craft, locked down, and then the block deleted to seperate them, so it's exactly a 1 block space (which the blast door is supposed to fit into)

Enter the "Show collision models" mode, take more screenshots then post it in the bug report forum, it looks like a pretty huge bug that should be taken care of asap

Is he seriously trying to guilt-trip you by using his kids?
Yeah. He's playing every trick in the book to get to the moral high ground.
What he doesn't realise is that he's making a tit of himself because he doesn't understand the definition of plagiarism.

ahahhahah holy shit
such delusional people exist
"I have kids"
"my friend died"
"he called me a bad guy waaah"
"he just happened to build the same exact ship"
"feel bad for meeeeeee"
Boy I sure do hope today's update is gonna be something big, to make up for the flaccid past couple of weeks.
Like, procedurally generated worlds would be nice.
Or AI enemies
Like, procedurally generated worlds would be nice.
We've had this since day one.
If you rated disagree, you don't know what procedural actually means.
We've had this since day one.
It's more just a selection of premade asteroids randomly placed in a small area currently. Would probably only be feasible once enormous optimisations have been made, but I would love to see much larger maps with more densely-packed and varied asteroids.
We've had this since day one.
I mean nearly infinite ones that just keep spawning new asteroids as you fly
It's more just a selection of premade asteroids randomly placed in a small area currently. I would want something that uses perlin noise to control the frequency of asteroids over the whole grid, so you have small regions that are incredibly dense separated by vast empty expanses, with the intermediate bits having a few sparsely separated asteroids.

you funny man, it has been reported since summer
You guys know what time it is?

Volumetric Explosions. Oh my
How common are updates, anyways?

Weekly, with the occassional quick fix between patches.

Every thursday with a hotfix released usually the day after on friday.

Wow, that often? I knew people said Keen really cared about their game, but that's some really good care, especially for an Early Access game.
holy shit this armour is now actually effective!
it takes 4 rockets to destroy something behind one layer of light armour, while it takes just one rocket to destroy multiple non armour blocks.

They must have some kickass producers and managers.
I love this armor update. However I'm still waiting for explosions to exert more force on a ship - it might be a little unrealistic but battle's would be way cooler if your ship was getting knocked about by rocket barrages.
It took 20 small ship rockets to penetrate one point of my ship, but when the rockets hit the inside it was just spagettified from the inside out.
