That's the idea.
Welp, finally finished and uploaded the fighter that I've made, I have to say it turned out really well and left me feeling quite pleased.

I think that the design itself is solid, but the flat white doesn't work very well with it, maybe try something a little darker and add some variety to it

Needs a turret for the second seat to use.

max acceleration: 1m/s
max acceleration: 1m/s
It actually goes pretty decent in most directions because it's all light armor.
love the design
max acceleration: 1m/s^2
there ya go buddy
Does anybody know if theres a way to zoom out further? its a pain it the ass when piloting very large ships to not be able to see all the way around.
I use cameras personally.
[editline]19th November 2014[/editline]
Also a neat idea a one time use merge block that turns into either heavy or light armor once connected.
Does anybody know if theres a way to zoom out further? its a pain it the ass when piloting very large ships to not be able to see all the way around.
how fucking big is your ship
how fucking big is your ship
It doesn't have to be that big for it to become a problem.
how fucking big is your ship
The Nostromo is 311M long. The cockpit is at the front, and when flying, I cant zoom out enough to clear the back, so in order to see around the ship I have to constantly pan around.
Needs a turret for the second seat to use.
The entire thing was actually designed with that in mind. However, since the turrets we have available right now off workshop are basically demonstrations, they have half assed collision models and you can't attach them without making the entire thing look fugly.
The ones that have AI enabled have 3x3 bases, but they're still 5 blocks tall so the problem is still present. They should be just 2 blocks tall, I prefer it to clip into shit rather than not being able to land with it on the nose. I'd change it myself if I knew how.
Seeing as everyone is doing big ships again, do you guys remember this thing?
[t]http://puu.sh/cYApk/51e894529b.png[/t]
Internet points to the first guy that remembers, if not, fuck it Ill post pics again
[editline]20th November 2014[/editline]
Holy shit I just checked and it's 980 m long without the 1/8th front bit
I remember thinking "That guy is stupid for attempting something so big"
Can;t actually remember what it is though.. How is it going?
A few friends and I built a super carrier once. It was like 4km long, and 2km tall.
We put mini carriers in it, and launched carriers that launched fighter craft.
Dunno what happened to the save.
[editline]20th November 2014[/editline]
Also the FPS was like -12. It was slow.

I remember the shitstorm that ensued, wasn't nodachi a big part of it?
But yeah I gave up on it, this is how built it is atm, with a few floors inside giving it a base for an interior.

I'll probably get back to work on it, I'm gettting 12 fps with it though, so I'll probably do it when the games got some kind of optimization for these fucking huge things.

Yay, performance fixes! and weapon sounds!
NoDachi was a massive anus yes.
This was the one of the interior floors, although in vanilla there isn't anything to detail it with.
I'd add some interior mods, but I'm worried about them breaking the ship and it not loading.

Interior mods currently causes lag on small ships/nodachi large ships scale and are only made for 1 block height floors.

Ah, right, I was thinking little square reception desks that find in shopping centers though, and maybe some large pillars.
This is meant to be a combat ship, but this deck is meant to be more for the rich people and shit.
And that back thing too with the massive round window

Fuck fun and creativity.
Fuck fun and creativity.
If you're paraphrasing NoDachi, you're spot-on.
Why would you waste time building giant ships you're just burning more energy and coming closer to your inevitable heat death.
