well i certainly hope it's not the way he says it is!
Has anyone got a copy of his work pre-pull? Tempted to upload it to workshop with an explanation of copyright law as the description to call him out for being a little bitch.
It's a pretty petulant attitude, quite literally like picking your ball up and going home because you're not winning. It's like he feels keen owes him something for making a mod for the game. I mean, they've made a start with mod support, and with the planned features, exploration and AI and that, it might be that they're waiting till they've expanded the game before adding more stuff for modders.
It is petulant, but he was apparently in the closed test group and they refused to listen to criticism. Maybe he presented it like a petulant twat (it seems plausible from his reaction to comments) but it seems like there are valid criticisms sprinkled in. [editline]21st December 2014[/editline]
Has anyone got a copy of his work pre-pull? Tempted to upload it to workshop with an explanation of copyright law as the description to call him out for being a little bitch.
His most recent comments are some pretty strong words (read: threats) toward people who would reup his work. That said, how fucking hard can it be to code a shield? I'd love to see the copycat mods his little shitfit will spawn.
isnt this the second modder who flipped the fuck out and pulled their mods? Also I dont know if its possible to do this but shields were a little op,if you say made the emmiter a projector that also welded a shield piece then have the sheld piece weld in adjacent shield pieces so you have a more destructible shield that will regenerate and possible be adjustible. note Ihave no idea how to make it work im only an ideas man. It would also make shields use power meanning there would be a running cost to them.
This is what I hate the most about steam workshop, someone makes a mod, then breaks it on purpose/removes it because they're a whiny crybaby, and steam automatically updates your game with the new broken mod, or just removes it, not giving you a choice to keep the old version that still works.
Just made this generic Halo 3 Odst Street 1:1: [img_thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/31855021961783608/7D17EF898DA3865C90141F99AFA5D972967B1191/[/img_thumb]
A lot of workshop modders are collossal man children cry babies. It's happened countless times before with garrysmod and Arma 3. They get pissed off things aren't going their way so delete their mods.
Gee I'm glad I'm not a shit head.
Sounds like he was removed from the testing group because of his unreasonable and whiny demands from the dev team. For all his talk of ~being a modder~, he certainly doesn't understand game development. The core of his argument is as bad as those complaining about Rust.

Talking about the Paladin ofc.
isnt this the second modder who flipped the fuck out and pulled their mods?
Wouldn't be surprised, this kind of game attracts the same spergy shitlords as GMOD and Minecraft. For Minecraft, anyone remember Gregtech vs. other mods? The guy was such a whiny bitch that he made his mod crash the game if you ran certain other mods with it and he nearly got blacklisted by modpack makers like Technic and Feed the Beast (and honestly he should have been, he's still a shitlord to this day).
isnt this the second modder who flipped the fuck out and pulled their mods?
Who was the first? This has happened to me like ten times with Garry's Mod. Fortunately, with a combination of the Gmad extractor and the legacy addon browser addition, most of that is easily fixable. Like I said though, comments go back farther than the wall of text I provided, there may be more to know in there.
Maybe he presented it like a petulant twat
He did. good riddance though, one less entitled whiner whos the imaginary ceo of an inaginary "company" and thus superior to the scheming space peasants, who just exist to steal his hard work. how is there even space engineers drama wtf
how is there even space engineers drama wtf
Theres been quite a bit tbh At least in this game the drama doesnt originate from shitty devs.
Theres been quite a bit tbh At least in this game the drama doesnt originate from shitty devs.
Well, according to his side of the story, it does. Anyway, I want to sympathize with him, but half the shit he says/does turns me away. Like this:
The Paladin 1 hour ago I'm upset because people like you would do this for laughs while I am sitting back over here thinking of all the legal ramifications of having my original put into a separate company's project while another version of this can be headhunted for keen's game at any time. I want my models back because what you are doing is illegal and is also causing me considerable stress. I want to be the good guy and let you play with it, I don't want keen playing with it though. If it comes to be too much, there will be a lawsuit to make you remove it. I'm asking nicely right now. If you have a copy of the mod, keep it! Use it! That's great! Please do not distribute it over Space Engineers Workshop, or in any way that gives them permissions over the content that I authored.

The Paladin 1 hour ago If I just took it down, a possible 20,000+ people who subscribe to my mod could have broken builds. So I replaced the models I wanted taken down with blocks that wouldn't break people's builds. I'm not trying to be self righteous, I'm trying to leave. I want to take my creation with me and have no legal squabbles over who owns this.
Bolded stuff that makes me sympathetic, italicized things that just make me laugh. This comment, however, seems to explain the most:
The Paladin 1 hour ago If I were to have removed the mod, the blocks on your ship that were from my mod would disappear, possibly leading to broken ships. I replaced it with an equivalent blok in terms of mount points and size. On top of this, THE MOD HAD NO FUNCTION ANYWAY. Keen broke it. The shields did not protect anything. So if anything, I turned a worthless block on their ship into a battery.
Yeah but he's leaving modding Space Engineers, so why would he give a crap if it breaks peoples ships, besides, it's not like it'd make most ships explode, they'd just have missing blocks since I'm guessing nobody used the shield mod to connect every vital part of their ships together with just the shields. It also doesn't help that he went full idiot and said "if 10,000 people spam the word batteries i'll bring it back"

I'd assume because he's not that much of a dick to go "lol fuck you guys, I'm leaving, fuck your shit" and let it break thing entirely. That said, I really don't see why he couldn't have just made the blocks inert. The code might've been broken, but he could've at least just left it as armor blocks with the same models as his shields or something.
He sounds like a bellend.
I wonder if we're gonna get the exploration update this Thursday They haven't released an update last christmas, but this one is kinda huge and it'd make a nice christmas gift, plus if it's already done all that's left to do on Thursday is to push a button which can even be done from some dev's home

Also, anyone who has built a ship so that the shield blocks are the only thing holding it together, kinda deserves to have their ship to break.

Are there any mods that make it so you have to manually wire utility blocks to power sources?

I doubt we'll see it before christmas.
