Would be nice if we had a more diverse set of sensors. Basic radar, perhaps some optics (zoom into stuff, see heat and such). That'd probably make it easier to find stuff, as i'm guessing ships don't always spawn right next to asteroids.
I found out something cool, if you want even more asteroids than the "high" setting will let you have, you can go to your save file location, open Sandbox.sbc in notepad and change <ProceduralDensity>0.5</ProceduralDensity> to 1.0 I think 1.0 is as far as it goes, I tried setting it higher but it made no difference for me
For maximium trolling you could just hide a beacon in an asteroid with narrow caves and mark it as uranium. Also slap a sensors on it. Then just rig the whole asteroid with warheads.

Give it a beacon called something like Neutral Uranium Refueling station. Wait for a ship to get to it, let it inside and then close the doors. and Open a door on its inside that reveals weapons. Destroy ship enough and take the loot. I know it would cost so much more to do it like that but that could be used as a decent base and not only a "trap".
That's the more logical move. I was just going for full on professional space dick. [editline]27th December 2014[/editline] Oh yay, page king and I don't even have a computer to run to right now..

You can set it WAY past 1.0
all we need now is to combine that with some sort of autopilot
If you create a map via the dedi. You can set it WAY past 1.0
Do it at 1000000.0 watch as there is nothing but asteroids!, not even space
So I bounced a question off Marek on Youtube and he said the next big thing we're going to see is in-game programming. Excited? I know I am.
I think waypoints are lore-explainable- just a built-in system in the astronaut's HUD that keeps track of their location in a relative manner. We'll most likely have some form of UPS (Universal Positioning System? I can't imagine we'll keep calling it Global) that doesn't require satellites within the next 50-60 years.

I really wish warp drives broke the 104.4m/s speed limit.... I just made a Warpgate, and 104m/s is too slow. Yes, I know I misspelled asteroid, also, playclaw is having problems with quality. Also, I didn't even notice my mic was on :v:
I hate how Playclaw charge you extra for h.264 compression. Being a longtime customer and missing that weird ass transition period in payment plans I at least expected to get what I originally fucking payed for.

Been trying to get the Nvidia codec to not look like shit with playclaw (looks fine with Shadowplay), since I rather have it use my GPU than my CPU.
I decided that I wasn't going to bother paying for the upgrade after they ripped me off. Whenever I get a chance to play games I just used shadow play.
So I bounced a question off Marek on Youtube and he said the next big thing we're going to see is in-game programming. Excited? I know I am.
This will be so awesome. Hnnngh.
Oh lord, how long till the first virus? Just have it wreak havoc across the server.
Oh lord, how long till the first virus? Just have it wreak havoc across the server.
Like replicators?
Like replicators?
With blueprints and programming, it's probable that this can and will be done.
So I bounced a question off Marek on Youtube and he said the next big thing we're going to see is in-game programming. Excited? I know I am.
Depends on how they implement it really, as I can't program to save my life (nor would i fucking expect to have to learn to program to get the full range of possibilities out of the game).
If Shadowplay allowed me to have multitrack audio, it would be great, but only Playclaw seems to have it,
Action! allows you to have multi track audio too. I've only experimented with it a little but Action does seem like a good ltitle piece of kit
Like replicators?
Well that, but i mean malicious code that affects ship systems
Is it me, or are bases and abandoned ships not spawning in Exploration?
I totally misunderstood what was meant by 'super-large worlds' and have been thinking it was going to be planets :v:
Is it me, or are bases and abandoned ships not spawning in Exploration?
I've been led to believe that they will spawn, they're just very damn rare. I've not found anything yet.
Depends on how they implement it really, as I can't program to save my life (nor would i fucking expect to have to learn to program to get the full range of possibilities out of the game).
From what they have said about it, it seems you will need to have at least some interest in actually writing code to get the full power of programming. They did however emphasize that they want it to be easy for people to share programs, which I imagine means that all but the most specific and advanced power-user projects will be publically available.
PSA: landing gear/connectors/etc (merge blocks are fine) don't like the edges of the "sectors", wouldn't be surprised if it applied to rotors and pistons as well. I had a small drone attached to my ship with a connector, I got up to 104m/s just fine, but after a while the drone just didn't feel like being attached anymore and yeah. I can still see parts of it floating off in the distance
