I want that destruction/shattering in Space Engineers please. I don't care if metal doesn't act like that at least this way we get proper debris fields from damaged ships. I really hope they integrate it someway into SE.
Wow, LSG is absolutely obnoxious as all hell Cannonballs, cannonballs, cannonballs
wonder what LSG will do for this "we made a CASTLE that sort of walks and blackholes, and we've made barracks that will support 50000 knights, and a battering ram that takes 6 days to break a block"
I actually wonder, since it's hinted that you'll have to carry supplies back to your base manually (like felled trees and shit) if it would be possible to make a wind-powered cart with a clutch that allows you to stop the cart and change direction, in order to move a bunch of materials in one go...
Wind powered tanks with catapults on top.

Though a wind powered cart would be awesome

One idea would be that when a block takes enough damage it would detach every block attached to it.
Im hoping that there will actually be classes and swords, and all that. Because with a space ship, it can defend itself relatively well, as well as it being mobile. But there has to be a large group of brute force people to justify the creation of a big castle that cant move or defend itself. Gameplay wise, spaceships work, but giant unarmed unmanned castles built by one guy with a skullcap dont make much sense outside of the context of eyecandy. Not only that, but iv found that lack of my own personal creativity makes it really hard to get into space engineers sometimes. Sometimes i just wanna do a space battle without designing some complex machine, but its near impossible doing that online. Personal lack of creativity is also a major turn off for other people, since space engineers seems to only appeal (at the moment) to people who can create like crazy. If medieval engineers could appeal to both those who want to create, and those who want to hack and slash, i feel there will be a much larger playerbase. Not only that, but the destruction engine just begs for a large scale battle amidst catapult fire and falling debris. This is literally day 1 of the reveal, but i cant help but worry that medieval engineers will suffer from the same "build a lot but do nothing with it" attitude that has stunted SE. Regardless, this looks fun as fuck and i want it now.

(aside from having the biggest pad on the mountain)
I'm guessing the secret AI project they're working on will allow both games to have significant NPC's such as farmers and other such townsfolk to look after and crewmembers to repair and operate ship systems.

Because that specifically says it's not game related.
Are you talking about their job posting? Because that specifically says it's not game related.
No it's in the blog post. I realise what I suggested is extremely hopeful but what's life without hope?
being able to create armor and clothes and such would be a great way to alleviate the "different classes" thing. just, some distinction between character and their roles would be super. like, the creation gives the idea that its gonna be something like "Banished" but the destruction is contradictory to that. there has to be some understanding that in warfare, the big massive catapults AID the troops. they arent the sole combat unit. and without some form of army, the combat is essentially nonexistent. instead of proper warfare, its just gonna be some asshole with a catapult attacking you a bit until he either gets bored or accidentally kills you.
I do imagine we'll see a vehicle building game someday that's more modern, a la Banjo Kazooie n&b or robocraft. That would be at of fun in this engine

Perhaps instead of that, in the case they didn't like that idea, we could have preplanned stations with marketplaces that will bustle and be active with AI, perhaps with bartering for items. Maybe there will be physical AI people on cargo ships and etc.
