You don't have to wire anything up or worry about distances, all parts that in some way connect back to the reactor get powered.

Setting the foundation of the ship is the hardest part of it. That much alone weighs 1000 tonnes. Predicting a weight around 1000 kilotons or more.

Placing breaching charges on the sides of ships to blow holes in their hulls would be cool.
I hope that multiplayer comes soon because if we grouped together producing that Star Destroyer would go so much faster. Would also be easy to groupbuild since we have schematics. Can you just imagine trying to build this out of materials you scrounged though? [I]~~~~hnghhhhh~~~~[/I]
While the block aspect is miles better than what Minecraft has on its java, there's a thing it does better: in minecraft, you don't just add a block, you replace it (air to stone, or air to wood etc), and huge buildings don't lag as much (I may be wrong). In this game however, you add blocks, and it gradually starts to lag more. So what I'm saying is, it's not gonna be lag-free to build huge (even mid-huge) ships in multiplayer.
