It's so disappointing when I'm working on like a megafuckshitholyfuckspunkgarglewee-sized cruiser and then my framerate declines to about 30 or something and it's just adfghudfghadgfg
Really starting to get into this, built a station and a small ship/shuttle
But now I want to start something really cool...
So after hours of research, study and back breaking labor I have this incredibly complicated plan.

It's okay if you don't fully understand the mechanics behind it, some people just aren't cut out to be rocket scientists..
Obviously I still have a lot to do, like making it look really cool, it's still in the bare bones stage. I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any really cool ideas to make it better or look cooler. Especially with the interior.

I'm hoping we get some sort of crew system, or atleast a way for people to man different positions on a space ship (a navigator, turret guy, etc.).
I'm also hoping for atmosphere in the ships, so you can have oxygen and shit... for no other reason than that it would be cool.
Also, huge cargo bay doors. Please.

Slow at the moment. Had a few midterms this week.
Exterior of bridge (basic shell without intricacies) is almost done, and rough outline of the hull is finished.
i reallllly hope large ships receive some kind of optimization
So many blocks though. So many fucking blocks. I may have to resort to interior thrusters if I hope to get to anywhere near an operable speed. Currently, it weighs about 8 kilotonnes, and it is not even remotely close to a tenth of it's finished mass.

I don't care about energy shields. But i hope other defensive/offensive technologies exist (other than little turrets).
laser defense systems (for shooting down missiles)
Self repairing armours. (expensive and using power)
Swarm missiles
big missiles
Fixed railguns (cannons that have great piercing power, lined up like blocks)
Grapling hooks
Boarding tubes. (bridges that come out when activated, cutting a hole in the hull)
Boarding missiles (large rocket propelled coffins that carry people/robots in).
Power drain/overload weapons.
Bioweapons.
magnetized shoes- incase boarding goes wrong and you end up on the outside of the hull of a fast flying ship.
Good door systems.
security alarms.
Cameras/scanners that tell the player/allies exactly where boarders are.
Anti-personnel crew/turrets/traps.
Humanoid robots and Drone controlled ships. Possibly with matching consoles that allow the player to Take control.
I've listed way too much and i don't even have the game. Could someone kindly gift me a 25% discount?

So after my harpoon ship prematurely hit the memory limit and the P-38 ship got corrupted, Im gonna try to make an orc-like ship today that utilizes maximum dakka and da ramz

I dont think this would be a good idea at all. Perhaps, instead, and idea would be some sort of nanolathe that would be on a station or a drone, that you can fly around and repair your ship with, if you have a copy of the ships blueprints (somehow gotten before the ship is destroyed).
It would take quite a bit of time, resources, and energy, but I could see repair stations set up specifically for this and it would be cool to cripple one's fleet by taking out their only repair ship/station, and watching as they cannot repair.

I timed the 0 to 10 m/s acceleration time of one large thruster attached to a chunk of ship, then replaced it with small thrusters and removed excess armor blocks as needed to keep the weight the same.
I found that 1 large thruster exerts force equal to 15 or 16 small thrusters, while occupying less space and adding less weight.
Finished the exterior of the other hangar, added frontal supports to the bridge (now with 300% more gatling!), and a little bit of detail in the diagonal corners between the arms and the central section containing the bridge.
On a related note, I find duplicating to the other side of a ship goes a lot faster since I already know what to do. Might try an asymmetrical ship after this one.

I want this game to have a option for when blueprint saving is a thing.
When you are on a different server and have the resources to build your ship, theres a box that you can tick for it to allow you to weld the ship from anywhere and it would just randomly pick blocks to complete if you don't want to do 1 block after 1 walking around on it, since in some designs you would likely not be able to reach some blocks it would be a great thing to have available.
When making something meant to transport a loose object, ensure that the acceleration is not too high!

I'd really like to see someone make the Venator Class Star Destroyer, its shorter then an Imperial Class, I think its smaller. But it has a landing bay in the centre, plus those 2 side hangers.
