Space Engineers - Say goodbye to Starmade and Blockade runner.

Finally found a good final design for something to put on the top of the ship. The intersection between arms and central section will have larger, similarly designed structures. If or when turrets become more complicated to manage, they'll be useful to store the necessary turret components as the support beams on the rest of the ship don't have much room for other things.

Made a really shitty Mac Cannon. It's fun to use though.[/QUOTE]As ingenious and interesting the community railgun methods are, I hope the devs don't leave us relying on them forever and add some form of railgun or other capital ship weapon. I know the general theme is that combat is just something that has arisen over competition for resources rather than a conventional war between nations, but there's gotta be something big that goes bang on a big ship that isn't the reactor going critical.
My next project is making a drill that will pierce the heavens

Depends on if you have any steam keys just hanging around to trade for a game of similar value.
I updated my Mac Cannon, it now goes up to 50 m/s and can punch a hole in light armor.

Explosion not included... sometimes.

Holy fuckity fuck. Doing the sides so they were relatively straight took about 10 tries to make, and an additional 10 minutes to assure symmetry.
I just go this and I'm pretty hyped! trying to make the Pillar of Autumn now!
Gravity Gens are going to be a great way to fuck with people.

Starting my first serious construction. This is the docking pad to my research station I am making. Hopefully, it will be fully functional by the end of tonight.

I'm just going to load my lowest deck with a few hundred of them and fly past enemy capital ships upside down, plaster their whole crew to the ceiling :v:
Yes this is good

Almost halfway there! Well... sorta... Still it's coming along nicely
Though I really wish they had followed the usual convention for scale where 1 block ~= 1 meter...

We'll see. 16GB of RAM, a FX 8350 and a 7850. I should be able to handle it pretty well.

7850, that's like on par with a GTX 660 ti, yea? No, your FPS is going to tank like a motherfucker.

Is this game ok at this stage of development?
Also does anyone know the extent that the game is multithreaded? If it's not well threaded, then his 8350 will be somewhat worse than even an i5.

No the last 54 pages were a discussion on how terrible this game is. :v:

Good luck with that
I got 16 gb of Ram, i7 3770k and a 7970.
It drops to 50 fps when my battlecruiser is in sight and its not that big.

The actual thing is supposed to be around 3 times the lenght of what that is so around 200 some blocks and even then its 1/4 the size of that full size star destroyer you are trying to make.
So its not going to work out on your pc unless you think 2 fps is great.
Thats what you peasants get for using radeon cards

Note: this is (only slightly) sarcasm. Please dont crucify me.
I've been working on the below for a few evenings now, although I'm not yet experiencing any lag yet I am beginning to crash quite often. Does anyone know of a way to make it more stable or is this just something I'm going to have to put up with?

I hoped so because I bought my gpu when it was the fastest single gpu on the market (early 2012)
Still is the second best single radeon gpu you can buy today (its basically a r9 280x)
But when I get money I plan to get something like the GTX Titan or better.
So far to me it seems RAM is just as important as everything else.

unless you really want to build ships and crash them, I wouldn't recommend getting it yet. I would wait for a few more content patches, or multiplayer.

I have a GTX 660 ti and for the most part I do not lag, only lagged when I loaded up some really big stations or ships.
Ooh, a Venator would be a good idea. It has two bridges, that means someone can't just lop one bridge off, they have to get both!

Acclamators and Venators. Acclamator is assault ship, Venator is proper star destroyer
