Space Engineers - Say goodbye to Starmade and Blockade runner.

You'll want a kinetic torp where it'll leave a sizable chunk inside the hull of the enemy ship so when they fly about it'll bounce around like spalling.
Otherwise those holes are mostly going to be superficial damage unless they hit something important like a reactor or something.

Gentlemen, I bring upon ye the newest invention from My Brain™
I present... the Mastodon Cruise Ship!

This bulky hunk of a people-freighter equipped with a nice banquet hall will take you to the sun and back! Prepare to work on that tan, as the lack of sun protection is sure to boil you senseless - literally!
With sponsorship from OCTA®, the Mastodon has been built with new, revolutionary space technology such as the DRIFT™ Strafe-system for quick maneuvering, and the PUSH™ Engine system, bringing you to the whooping speed of 70,2 m/s!

Breaking news! The Mastodon maiden flight ended in tragedy today as the ships captain suffered an aneurysm mid-way through take-off. He allegedly performed a maniacal laughter as the ship took a sharp turn and blasted toward the docking station in Sector 6.

i cant wait until multiplayer is added, and someone makes space station 13.
i would weep tears of joy
I'm surprised no one has attempted to start a station with the SS13 layout yet.
It really would be a multi-person job though.
can't you attach thrusters to these so called "kinetic torpedoes"?
I wish containers weren't attached to ships. It's annoying to have to make a ship, put a container on it, and then delete the base block just to get a floating cargo crate.
It makes sense if you want to have a cargo bay without them rolling around, but at the same time it makes my cargo hauler kind of annoying to use. They need a way to make them go static when you put them down, but have them have physics otherwise.
The Mole!

Diggin' through space from 0-70 at an unbelievable pace on this 27-thruster monstrosity all powered by an octa-generator!

But that's not all! Over 50+ thrusters total to maneuver and control this beast of a ship through space! You would not belie-

Beautiful plumage.
Imagine if we ever get heavy-duty railguns; a large tungsten slug going at ludicrous speed just slamming right through it, from front to back, exploding the ship almost like that.
I liked the idea someone posted on the official forums of railguns being a multi-block weapon; the longer the gun, the more powerful but the greater the energy drain and recoil.
Or simply expanding on the ad-hoc torpedos, allowing us to create blocks that accelerate whatever's on top of it in a certain direction.
I wonder, do landing legs pull things towards them?
I wonder, do landing legs pull things towards them?
Nah, they just stick to whatever is in range.
Nah, they just stick to whatever is in range.
But how close is that range and do they move whatever is in range close enough to be touching when activated

Have you tried putting landing legs flush with the floor/ceiling in the cargo bay?
I guess you couldn't stack crates like that, but it's a start.

I'm gonna make a shotgun I guess
If the steam screenshots have 3 people in them, then multiplayer must be in the making if not working.
If the steam screenshots have 3 people in them, then multiplayer must be in the making if not working.
Or the devs can just place some player models around the environment.
I believe that 'multiplayer' was just LAN.

No, its LAN and online play.
No, its LAN and online play.
I meant to say that they used LAN to take the picture.
I finished my BigShip that I talked about earlier in http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1314915&p=42697718#post42697718.
Now here are the images of the BigShip, or the HMAS Bugly:

It turned out looking like my mining ship because the ship was built around every section having a large amount of armour, with the reactor bit having the largest amount.
What do you guys think?
Or the devs can just place some player models around the environment.
The devs stated somewhere that the screenshots/videos with multiple players were running on LAN.
For stacking crates in a cargo bay, couldn't you like the walls with legs?
I'm thinking about picking this up, it sounds and looks great. What is there to actually do in the current version/state of the game?

I was wondering why the game was starting to lag...
I hope the final metal texture is riveted plates rather than... this weird thing they have going on right now!

or just let us paint textures much like we paint color.

This.
Just like you can in Blockade Runner would be perfect.
Bought it. I've come to learn that I'm a terrible Space Ship designer :v:
I swear the official forum chat message notification has doubled in volume. Damn near deafened me.
Only now just realised I can turn the sound off, but i'm not sure that setting sticks.
Is there a way to block the whole chat thing from running entirely?
Was thinking of making some freighters from Independence War 2.
Problem is, this one has the crates diagonally
http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/7/6181/39045.jpg
This one has 2x1 slopes (and we don't have colourable 2x1 sloped blocks, corners and whatnot)
http://www.i-war2.com/images/city_freighter.jpg
And the SnRV is just a flat, ugly bastard that can carry only 6 crates.
