sweet jesus, worse? just launched it and going from about 40 fps to stable 60 fps is a huge improvement to me. only issue I have now is shit ton of screen tearing, but pretty sure there is a vsync option in the graphics settings
I nominate Callie for best new user ever.
Hello all,
I've been lurking in this thread for a week or so now, and have enjoyed all of your creations immensely, So I thought I'd share what I've been working on since buying it on the 27th.
It's a work in progress, not even half done, and I might be restarting it now that symmetry has been applied.

The ship is approximately 2142 meters long, (judged by the height of the large ship blocks in comparison to the astronaut, which appeared to be roughly 9 feet give or take, so around 3 meters each. It's roughly 714 blocks long. It was killing my fps but the new update has everything running smoothly again to, so the dreams not dead yet.
I don't know whether to call you insane, brilliant, or both. Good Lord man.... if you finish that and manage to get a blueprint for it, you will simply dominate anyone in space engineers.
ram its 1 block x 1 block thermal exhaust port with the help of a targeting computer to trigger a chain reaction that destroys the vessel
if the targeting computer doesn't work, trust your feelings
welp these updates haven't improved performance on my huge ship which is about 1/5th done
:(
Working on a tower ship, was getting a bit tedious so I tested a design for a turret. It rotates everywhere it could possibly rotate and it does it quickly, now the challenge is to make it look aesthetically pleasing while still retaining that performance.

Now my 1km ship won't load (unless it's meant to take more than 5 minutes). I was barely done with the outer shape of the lower hull.

that's no moon
Is it worth getting this if I'll only play it 3-4 hours a week? (If that) Or is it too much of a timesink to only play occasionally. It looks great, but I'm pretty busy at the moment and will only get busier.

Aw, thanks!

I cringe to think of how long it would take to gather the materials needed in Survival and multiplayer to make this. Will probably need a team in multiplayer.
Although, if it's possible to fly unfinished frames around, I just need it to be functional; thrusters, turrets, gravity, etc. "Witness the power of this fully armed and operational battle station", and all that. Would just need to make sure the important things like reactors, gyros, gravity gens, etc., are all heavily protected until the outer hull is finished.
It'll be like the ghost ships of old. "Sir, a ship is on an intercept course with us... it... it's skeletal..." "I thought that was just a legend!"

I think so. Right now there's not much but shipbuilding, but they're updating constantly, and are pretty quick adding new features that are in high demand, so it might not be much longer before there's more to the game.
As is, since it's just building right now, it's quite leisurely, as much time as you wish to spend constructing your ship, no deadline on when it needs to be completed.
Trouble is that the larger your ship gets, the less accurate collision get.
Leading to a few collisions, followed by the ship glitching inside your hull.

540 red ships.
In other words, 64-bit version of Space Engineers released soon.
for scale reference, the blue 2 km behemoth probably dwarfs that whole fleet
The new symmetry mode has made this game fun again.

Now just enable multiplayer with the capacity to handle that many players and we have a masterpiece.
that many players sounds unlikely, but even half of that would be more than swell

Damn symmetry, the idea was to make a pretty small "tactical" ship :v:
That's only the interior (cargo bay, hangar, reactor room and engineering)
Ai with that many ships?
I think 16-32 person multiplayer would work pretty well. That, or just leave it open like Minecraft and let people sort it out for themselves.
Finally got it, feels good.
A drill ship, but the drills don't work do they? If they do... How?
Nevermind, I searched it, I see... a pole = a drill

they don't. YET.
Which one? I fly a Ha'Feh, planning on upgrading to an Ar'Kif carrier soon.
I have the guardian one :D also, Talon. EAT A DERDERIX CLASS!
I made a ship that was no more than a 80 blocks long and 50 blocks wide at it's widest point and I kept getting that "Not enough memory" thing until I restarted the whole game and then continued from the save.
Is this supposed to happen?

It's still in Alpha. So kinda.

Reinspired to build things again. TIE Interceptor, here we go!
if they left the multiplayer configurable in terms of player limits I would totally upgrade my box and max it out as best I can to support as many players as possible.
I really like how they made everything's max speed 104m/s large ship kinetic torpedo launcher, go!
I have no idea how to play this properly, my ship keeps gliding all over the place and WILL NOT STOP.
I can't get close to the starting platform to park it because i float away in another direction when i stop the thrusters.

You need thrusters in every direction. front, back, left, right, up and down. Z controls the inertial dampeners, turning them off and on, when on the thrusters will automatically stop movement, but you need a thruster aimed in that direction first for it to do so.

Aww, it's a shame the thrusters look so bad.
