Is this shit really officially implemented in the game? The animations look horrible and it bugs the fuck out just spamming sounds.
admittedly, due to the stupid way MC handles models and entities, animations are literally the worst thing to ever do and its about 99% trial and error that being said, horses are still super shitty and handle like hoverboards
mojang needs to focus on engine improvements for modders, and stop adding gimmicky content that anyone could make in less than a week
What the fuck do you think they have been doing for the last 6 months?
its great how when you fight zombies now they randomly multiply so you're fighting one zombie and then there's like eight of them and half of them have swords and armour
Oh so I did read those patch notes correctly, that's really fucking stupid.
Oh so I did read those patch notes correctly, that's really fucking stupid.
its an attempt to make zombie hordes threatening but the idea falls flat because the zombies spawn as you kill them which is aimed to make you try to avoid fighting them like in most zombie games bad part is, you cant avoid zombies in minecraft largescale zombie hordes that do not despawn and are relatively passive are much better to prevent people from being idiots
Adding gimmicky content anyone could make in less than a week.
What about all the api content? Notch did a terrible job writing minecraft, and now jeb/dinnerbone have to fix that mess, produce content, create the api, and fix existing bugs, fix any bugs that show up, deal with the community, and playtest. Maybe they are not working at fast as they could be, but come on, no matter what they do they will get bitched at.
Isn't the mod API being worked on by another team at Mojang? While Jeb and Dinnerbone work on new content and bug fixes.
Isn't the mod API being worked on by another team at Mojang? While Jeb and Dinnerbone work on new content and bug fixes.
yes but its been in hiatus since 2010
I found a horse but it's an entire continent away from my house. :suicide:

This game would be so much better without a combat system that basically equates to "MASHM1+SPACE2WIN" I mean it still wouldn't be very great but it would help a lot from being the boring bland thing it is today. That's why old MC, Alpha and Early Beta specifically, were the best times. As awful as an engine as Java is, and as horrible a coder as Notch is, he actually cared and didn't just look at MC as a cash cow to sell to little kids for even more ridiculous income. IIRC, wasn't he on vacation more than he was actually working last year?

Villages. They're so boring and perhaps the only important things are the chest near the forge, the free wheat, and the trading. Also, as mentioned before, the worldgen of these things. I once found an entirely submerged village.:pwn: Can't they just add somethings to make these villages seem like real villages? I'm not asking for complex manors. Perhaps they could add in some cemeteries that you can loot graves from and houses that are for a certain purpose - like a barn filled with food, or a small fishing hut, a church, whatever.
imagine if villagers would actually build onto the village if you bought items from them / more villagers lived in the area Like, there would even be mansions and mines made by the villagers and shit.
Horses Why the fuck horses If I want a fucking horse I have mo creatures wich has better fucking animations, sounds, and a complete breeding system Also the new launcher is a piece of shit
Like what Suttles said above, I wish villages weren't just little shacks and wells and the occasional tower. Speaking about villages, damn, they are FUCKING UGLY. Instead of using gravel for roads, they should use stone brick. Villages also look really bland. Maybe some trees, different houses, and less uglier structures would work.

They would be poor and ugly at first, but iirc if you helped them out or some shit, they would slowly grow larger or something.

I would always help the townspeople get items and build houses in the towns. I miss those days.
The slime chunk system needs to either be removed or redesigned. It's excrutiatingly frustrating at the moment, where pretty much the only way to get slimeballs is by using external programs that reveal slime chunks. IMO, slimes should spawn in all chunks, but they should be somewhat rare, and only spawn under level 20. That would keep it balanced. Either that or add some sort of redstone component, or ANYTHING that tells whether or not a chunk is a slime chunk.
Slime oozing out of the walls, similar to how water and lava drip through blocks, perhaps? Or underground pools of slime that the slimes ooze their way out of? :D
You mean Millenaire? If you're talking about that, then yeah. I would always help the townspeople get items and build houses in the towns. I miss those days.
ah yes, that mod :(
All these features nobody even asked for. And how the terrain generator got fucked up after 1.7.3 Jesus christ, after 1.7.3, everything is all over the god damn place and everything is an eyesore. These linear transitions from deserts/jungles to snow biomes and everything. Bland, ugly colored treeless mountains, no mountains anywhere else except for that ugly, plain, boring extreme hills biome. Why the hell did they fuck up the terrain generation so bad for 1.8? Why? Also zombies banging doors open, making a horrible, loud noise and then just fucking off after that. And also all these useless structures, MC worlds shouldn't be about some gimmicky structures that weren't needed in the first place, it was about awesome terrain generation which is now gone.
at this point I have no idea why they don't throw it all out and just write the game again there are so many broken and mismatched gameplay elements, apparently unfixable bugs, and giant walls standing between them and implementing critical features if they want to stay in business for more than a few years they really have to get to work on unfucking themselves
Man the new launcher looks very nice and not broken at all.
Man the new launcher looks very nice and not broken at all.
This could happen on the old launcher too. Edit: For example: [t]http://i41.tinypic.com/pr6zd.png[/t]
The terrain generation sure has been fucked in the ass, seeds are pretty much useless. I remember when posting seeds was about "Wow check out this cool valley of epicness" Or that 404 challenge. These days it's just "omfg lol survvl iceland just 1 tree"
I miss the Gargamel seed. :(
HORSE UPDATE [sp]THIS IS FUCKING RIDICULOUS [/sp]
I have no problem with anything in Minecraft as a concept. It comes down to execution. The things that are being added would be really fun if they were done properly. It just seems like they're splitting their resources among too many things instead of fixing what's already broken. Fix the bugs and things people don't like before trying to add neat things, Mojang, and the neat things you add will be more appreciated and in all likelihood end up being higher quality than the unpolished bullshit we have now.
Say what you want about horses they are fun to ride when you are high
