It's also a lot more than 15 % tax, closer to 50 % I'd guess
Well, from what I remember it's 15% for digital goods.
You can divide 30 million by 2 all you want but they're still putting a heap of a lot less effort into it than some mod teams put into their projects

They've been rewriting most of the game so the modders can do stuff easier and so the new guy (a modder) can start working on the Mod API.
All the rewrites go unseen to the public eye because it's not something you notice directly when starting the game.
I dislike how every server is advertised as Hunger Games, Economy or Skycraft or insert other 'popular' plugin, not trying to stand out at all by doing something different. I dislike how servers advertised as semi vanilla are far from vanilla.
Why are decent vanilla servers non existant? Why is xraying still a thing and why does Mojang not create an anti xray feature themselves? Fuck, should've played this more when majority of the servers didn't had all this fancy shit I dont give a fuck for or consider lame.

I used to play on great server once... Then shit got crazy back in late, late, late, late August and long story short someone who was pissed off wiped the hard drive and the owner hasn't had any motivation/time to remake it since.
THAT SERVERS ARE SO ADDICTING!!!!!!!! AND THE DOWNLOADABLE MAPS ARE TOO!!!!!!!!!!!
This may be a dumb question but why can't I find any mods for 1.7.4?
I'm also in agreement about the "new features" being blatant rip-offs of mods, with no credit being given whatsoever that I have ever seen.
Case-in-point: the new Mesa biome everyone's excited about. Uh, preeeeeeeetty sure that's been part of Biomes O' Plenty (and probably other biome-adding mods) for a long time now.
New world generation code? Gee, Better World Generation 4 (and its predecessors) have also been doing that for a long time now.
New animals? Mo' Animals or whatever it was called.
Improvements to redstone? Pick a mod, any mod.
It really just seems that Mojang is sitting on their asses letting the community do all the real work and then stealing ideas they like.
On a sidenote, whoever was wanting more weapons (by which I assume you mean low-tech ones that don't break the "feel" of Minecraft), you should check out Balkon's Weapons Mod. Easily my favorite weapon mod to-date. Adds katana, warhammers, battleaxes, flintlock pistols, muskets, etc. You can find it here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/211517-164forge-balkons-weaponmod-v113-now-with-flintlock-pistol/
Too assed to go look but I remember that they did talk to the mo' creatures devs. And being able to take mod ideas has been in the Licenses agreement for a long time.
Why don't you take a look, it just got updated today.

Point still stands. I don't know very many people who pay for a game that more and more turns into "mods the community made for free"

Let me change my motherfucking player name already
1.7, i don't think i need to state anything else.
For the record i like the new stuff it added. However performance wise its shit.
WHY IN THE HELL IS IT NOT WORKING
My only real beef with good ol' MC is the community.
It's just full of little kids who only got it cause of how much they begged there mom to buy it for them.
I also hate the Xbox version, to me its only use is to act as a alternative to any newcomer kid and prevent more of them to get onto the PC version.

Blame youtubers.

And that's exactly who I blame.
Tobuscus and SkydoesMinecraft's fault mainly
The biomes are too rigid next to each other, and once you go into a biome you already know exactly what's going to be there. This is the exact opposite of variation because at the start you pretty much just choose one biome where you're going to build all your crap. They need to put all the different types of trees and grass and stuff into one big biome that blends them all together.
On that note, I hate grass. Grass blocks are already supposed to be grass. You don't see little pebbles scattered around stone blocks, so why is grass everywhere. I guess it was supposed to be tall grass but then they decided it made the regular grass blocks look not grassy enough.

This is what made beta generation so great. But it also ruined it to see a few small patches of snow everywhere.

pebbles and piles of dirt and rock at the bottom of a cave wall would be cool
Really boogles my mind that people complain about the textures of the game and then use texture packs which make it look like an XBLIG knock-off.
So many people want content in oceans(why?), biomes, structures but imo they should add more stuff underground.
More ores, mobs, even underground "biomes"(e.g. glowing mushrooms in Terraria).
Stuff like that will enhance the game much more than Savannah and Pyramids that you give 0 fucks about after you see them once. Those silly looking dungeons with mossy cobblestone still make me excited every time I find them.
why not both? sea stuff and underground stuff could both be added to a lot more.
1.7.4 changed the netcode to netty and over 100,000 lines of code
for forge especially, it is quite annoying updating stuff when these updates alter the base code so frequently without a true api; forge wont have a 1.7.4 version out for months, so even with updating my things from 1.3->1.6.4, i still have to wait for 1.7.4 forge, and even then, so much has changed with how items and blocks are registered, and how networking works, that it'll be a massive shit ton of work to do another gigantic content update

They only need to add two things to oceans: An aggressive swimming mob, like a shark and a ocean-specific block, like coral (maybe something akin to stained clay).
They already set up oceans to be more interesting with water breathing potions and underwater mining efficiency enchantments. They just need the rest.
Also, abandoned mineshafts and ravines made underground a thousand times more interesting than before, I'm content with that for now (minus the need for more ores to mine).
Bug fixes pls. The number of bugs in this game is ridiculously high, especially for a released game that has been out for quite a while now.

I think that's exactly what they were going for with adding that to the oceans. I really hope we do see some more ocean content soon. I'd also like to see more ores, though I'm not sure what we'd do with them. I'd be happier with expanded use of current ores than more stuff.

Imagine ship-wrecks as mini-dungeons where sharks/barracudas spawn.
The creative menu is incredibly messy, for example, the slabs are scattered all over the place, all slabs should be next to each other. Same with logs and other blocks and items.

Even a daring man should only use Faithful.
Wheres the Modding API?
