Wheres the Modding API?
They want to have a proper codebase to write it on, they've rewritten several big parts of the game already. Mojang has also hired the founder of MCP and he'll be focusing on getting the Mod API going. Also, resource packs are getting more and more customization options to a point where a jump to mods would be pretty small.
I think that's exactly what they were going for with adding that to the oceans. I really hope we do see some more ocean content soon. I'd also like to see more ores, though I'm not sure what we'd do with them. I'd be happier with expanded use of current ores than more stuff.
They can easily make an ore that is stronger than iron but weaker than diamond. In fact, I think it would be better for the game to have that because there's such a huge stretch in usefulness between iron equipment and diamond.

I love how this game gets away with having 16x16 or whatever it is textures and how fucking low res and shit it is, yet any other game would get instantly shit on because, "it looks like sheit!!"
not really. "retro" graphics are all the rage recently.
Granted the graphics in Minecraft are still mostly dev graphics and are pretty shit.
Faction Servers should be reset after a certain amount of days that no ones been playing in. It just looks messy for people that join in. Not once have I seen a clean Faction server theres nothing but pits and private chests that are floating in mid air. It would make more of a challenge too cuz there would be alot of people fighting for resources and property. I mean you can have the same faction and everything just a reset of the map after a while so its clean...
I hadn't noticed that gap for the most part, but after thinking about it a bit, I agree.
It ought to be a material that has the rarity of gold but strength-wise between iron and diamond.
It ought to be a material that has the rarity of gold but strength-wise between iron and diamond.
Honestly I don't see a point in such a material. Enchantments can fill the gap by themselves, or they could if they weren't so random.

Plus enchantments would help early in the game when you only have iron.

If anything certain things that give you the ability to ensure certain enchantments (runes?) would be ideal. So you could mine certain gemstones, craft them with armor pieces/weapons/tools on an anvil with a certain experience amount, get certain enchantments.

You're rating me dumb in defense of the guy who thought The End as it is was an excellent idea. Think about that.
Let me change my motherfucking player name already
I want this so much, I know they said they're working on it, but they said that a while back. My friend and I made matching names (god knows why) and we hate them.
So I haven't played in a lonnnnggg time. A really really long time. So I finally decided to pop back in and see how things are, and also wanted to revisit my really old worlds from the Alpha. Problem is that while the game recognizes MCRegion format saves, it does not recognize the classic ones (with the loads of folders and shit). So I can convert my moderately old maps to Anvil but cannot do anything with my favorite old maps. I updated all these to MCRegion ages ago, but lost that bunch of saves. Luckily I found an old backup. Why do they feel it so necessary to change the level format all the time? Its been 3 iterations now and while each has gotten better its frustrating to me that I have now essentially lost my 3+ year old worlds.
Use the past versions available in the launcher to update progressively?
Thats what I had to do. Went back to Beta 1.3
It seems like Minecraft is trying too hard to be "hipster simulator 9000" I miss when it wasn't as popular and the dev's goals were to build a fanbase and a unique game instead of flatline this mediocre shit. [editline]2nd January 2014[/editline]
My only real beef with good ol' MC is the community. It's just full of little kids who only got it cause of how much they begged there mom to buy it for them. I also hate the Xbox version, to me its only use is to act as a alternative to any newcomer kid and prevent more of them to get onto the PC version.
I'll be talking about Minecraft to somebody and some random jerk will jump into my conversation "Minecraft is so awesome yeah!" "Minecraft is on PC?" [editline]2nd January 2014[/editline] Did anybody else's school have that phase where EVERYBODY pirated Minecraft? Mine did back in '12 I am not kidding when I say EVERYBODY pirated it. The only people to ever buy it was a couple of my friends, and of course myself.
The lack of RPG mechanics bug me. [editline]2nd January 2014[/editline] Also singleplayer feels so lonely because villagers don't speak and you're the only "human" in the world And the ending is some goofball trying to be deep in a really cheesy way
And the ending is some goofball trying to be deep in a really cheesy way
It's just a cheesy wall of text to tell you that you are playing Minecraft.
When your drowning and almost to the surface, but the water drags you down. You take damage from being out of breath and it pushes you downwards for some stupid reason. Thus you are doomed the moment you run out of air. I have lost so much thanks to this.

Carry a bucket and it will help with the drowing issue, I found it helpful.
I might be wrong, but I think they actually notice your armour and/or stuff in your hands, because that stuff doesn't turn invisible with you and just looks like its floating there.
From what I've heard it's actually a glitch, as last I heard spiders do not act aggressively towards invisible players. This was a patch or two ago when I heard this though, so not sure if that's been fixed as well.
It used to be that as long as you weren't wearing any armor mobs couldn't see you while you were invisible. With the update that added NPC pathing AI, the enemies became able to see you even while you're invisible. Spiders still can't see you when you're invisible because, as far as I know, they didn't get any improved pathfinding.

minecraft pvp is such garbage, and it takes some heavy reduction of it to even get a sliver of balance. they've gotta cut down on the OP shit like strength 2 pots and opples, and do a PVP overhaul.
Anyone else think the water physics change they did in the new snapshots is absolute shit? Every picture I've seen of it/person who's talked about has basically said/shown the water flowing out the 8 blocks or so like it would on flat ground into the air. THAT DEFIES LOGIC. Why does the water go out 8 blocks and go down at the same time? If I pour a glass of water out onto my desk, it doesn't flow out 4 feet in the air to my chair then come down onto it now does it?
I really can't think of anything... Less Kids? I dunno
