Anyone else think the water physics change they did in the new snapshots is absolute shit? Every picture I've seen of it/person who's talked about has basically said/shown the water flowing out the 8 blocks or so like it would on flat ground into the air. THAT DEFIES LOGIC. Why does the water go out 8 blocks and go down at the same time? If I pour a glass of water out onto my desk, it doesn't flow out 4 feet in the air to my chair then come down onto it now does it?
It was confirmed by a dev to be a bug.
It was confirmed by a dev to be a bug.
Oh good. I haven't check on it since I saw it so... Yeah. I can't believe some people wanted that as a legitimate feature (Snapshot page on the Minecraft Forums.)..

Hunger system. ...That's it, I don't need to say anything else.
Hunger system. ...That's it, I don't need to say anything else.
I have mixed feelings about it. In the beginning it would empty in a matter of seconds... Then they made it take forever to empty... Now I don't know.
My biggest stink with the hunger system as opposed to instantly healing when eating is that it slows down gameplay. After taking critical damage from a creeper or a skeleton or something while spelunking, all that's left to do is dig a little room out of a wall, seal yourself into it with dirt, eat something, and then just sit there and wait as your health takes its sweet time coming back. Or else continue spelunking and risk sudden death, but why would you do that unless you were heavily pressed for time?
When I spend 30 exp levels on a diamond sword and get fucking "Bane of Athropods IV" and nothing else. Stupid, stupid enchantment.
THANK YOU FOR THIS! I have SO MUCH to say about this insult to a community and so-called developers of this game. First of all, the developers have no idea how to develop a good game; there's some idiot dev named Dinnerbone he gets WAY to much attention, especially because he thinks that making the game harder will make it better. I don't know how but this guy won the whole 6 year-old and 12 year-old community part. And since they're so unreasonable everyone else who knows what they're talking about is now just ignored. Secondly, the updates are half-assed to the point where they're not even updates they're just patches. They're relying on community and thats not even what Notch wanted this game to be. I wonder how much more can they mess this game up?
If they're going with this nerfing of mob farms, I may as well quit minecraft.
If they're going with this nerfing of mob farms, I may as well quit minecraft.
haven't really been following that, what would that mean?
haven't really been following that, what would that mean?
They nerfed Gold and Iron farms in the new snapshot; now Zombie Pigmen and Iron Golems only drop gold and iron when killed by a player.
What is the reasoning behind the change, anyway? Was it considered OP, or do they just want obtaining iron and gold to always take manual effort? If the latter is the case, this is a pretty dumb change, because iron and gold grinders are usually quite difficult and expensive to build.
[img]http://i.imgur.com/2agkoX8.png[[/img] About that...
Minecraft has such big potential, I have no idea why developers are working on such useless stuff like adding more flower types or fireworks. Really? Mining is really boring. Game should have more ores, blocks, structures and maybe even monsters. It's MINEcraft after all. Combat. Swords and bows that's all we have. What about slings or guns? We have gunpowder after all.
Guns in Minecraft would be weird.
They nerfed Gold and Iron farms in the new snapshot; now Zombie Pigmen and Iron Golems only drop gold and iron when killed by a player.
Which is strange considering you have to do some spectacularly dumb stuff in order to make anything worthwhile that makes free iron/gold, and even then you're SLOWLY getting gold NUGGETS at a time with gold farms.
Motherfucking "Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.timeout.ReadTimeoutException" forced me to leave a server forever
There's armor for physical damage. Then there's enchantments you can for added protection - Projectile protection from skellies Blast protection from creepers Protection & thorns from zombies, slimes and endermen But where's the defense against witches and splash potions from PvP?? [editline]24th January 2014[/editline]
Which is strange considering you have to do some spectacularly dumb stuff in order to make anything worthwhile that makes free iron/gold, and even then you're SLOWLY getting gold NUGGETS at a time with gold farms.
Having a supply of iron and gold come in at a low, but steady rate was always a very nice reward for a lot of time and resources put into such a mega project. To me, building those things was a journey and seeing them function at the end was always the best reward.
I wish you could recycle tools and armor by smelting them. For example, smelting a pair of boots or helms will give you a single iron ingot and a chestplate or leggings will give you two or three. Axes and picks will give you one iron ingot while shovels and hoes give nothing. I'd rather do that than collect a bunch at 0 uses left and combine a dozen to get a handful of uses more.

More and more annoying kids playing there basically on every server there is
The enchanting system as of 1.7.2 is utter shit, in my honest opinion. The whole random enchantment thing where you can't tell what you're going to get was a terrible idea. It's almost like there's no difference between level 5 and level 30 enchantments unless you get lucky. It wouldn't even be such a problem if XP wasn't such a grind. There's not enough ways to get it, and all of them are mildly interesting at the most. This means that people quickly get tired of getting XP through the intended means, and start building XP farms. While I totally support automating things, it's incredibly easy to convert a dungeon into an XP farm, and once you have one you're set forever. As if that wasn't enough, there's only 2 kinds of enchanters - those with an xp farm, and those without. On a competitive server, this huge lack of leeway means that enchanting is once again harder for those with bad luck (failure to find a dungeon). Overall, I think XP doesn't work well as a system for enchanting. I'm aware it's being worked on heavily in the next update, but somehow I feel like they'll mess it up even more.

Because let's be honest finding a spawner isn't THAT hard EDIT2: While I'm here, fuck horses. Doesn't fit with the aesthetic at all, and renders minecarts and pigs useless. yet another case of mojang adding more content when improving current content would work just as well

Breed, slaughter, breed, slaughter, repeat repeat. That's how I've always done it until I find a dungeon. Not to mention the XP from cooking the meat.
Making Lapis Lazuli mandatory for enchanting (As of newer snapshots) is going to be a bit weird. I mean, wooo we have a use for the stuff besides dying sheep and wool blocks but... Lapis is in somewhat limited supply. I mean, mine enough and you'll find a bit of it but after a while on most servers it's price will skyrocket. (The good server's I've played on tend to naturally develop an economy after a while.)

Havent played minecraft in a year but gonna vent out why i left as closure Mojang stopped caring about survival and now focus soley on mappakers and redstone. I like making my own worlds. Not MC maps of other games. If i want to play an adventure i'll go play another game The community stood when it hit mainstream. It always had autistic tweens, but 2012-2013 was the huge influx of autistic tweens. Copy and Paste Youtube channels. I knew who skythekid was in my runescape days, and he really let the fame go to his head. Pandering to the LCD of the population I played Mc because i was too poor and had a bad computer to play anything else. When i got money to build a new computer i happily live on steam playing new stuff. Sorry, the game is just spoiled for me now. No special suprise updates, all of it explained in advanced. All content hardly affecting vanilla. Every server being the same rules and setup. Happy to live without the game.

Have you ever played Wurm Online? If so, you can clearly tell that Notch was making Minecraft into Wurm Lite before he went 'off the radar' I guess the new developers didn't want to take the game down the same survival path that Notch did and instead wanted to produce updates that were "a mile wide but an inch deep."
They are putting Vampires in the next update Oh Cool! That sparkle in the daylight Oh fuck no...
Fucking modding API still hasn't come out after 2 years. All I ever hear from MCF is but dey haf 2 fix teh bugs and stop adding feeturs!!1 That's no damn excuse to why it hasn't even been started yet. Also, some of my most favorite mods haven't been updated in over a year, which just makes me more angry.
