I will believe them when I see results. Not before. Not with their track record of half-assing everything.
Maybe you'd see results if you actually read the changelogs.
I can go mining and get a full set of iron armor + toolkit in under fifteen minutes. I have a video of me doing it, incase any are interested. Anyone else remember when iron was actually somewhat hard to get, and you celebrated at every little deposit? Good times.
It's still a pain in the ass for me. And when I do get it it becomes a pain in the ass to get cobble stone and shit for some reason.

I hate how everyone rushes to get everything done. As soon as a new server is up, within an hour someone has diamond, people have cow farms set up, someone starts on a mob grinder and people are already trying to find the stronghold. There's no pacing, everyone just rushes through the content. Understandably, there's fuck all content to go through so it's not exactly surprising, but as soon as the server is up everyone makes a mad dash to the finish, start building megaconstructs to pass the time after completing everything, get bored, stop playing, and wait for the server to reset or a new one to come up so they can get bored of that one too.

The game itself doesn't do anything to help pace it's content so its all up to the players.

I remember 343N's server where everyone but me rushed to UU matter production so they didn't need to mine anything. Except they did, because at the time you couldn't make uranium or silver with UU matter, which I had tons of because I: 1) Mined like a motherfucker, and 2) Had a Factorization ore processing rig.
Unfortunately there is nothing stopping players from rushing through everything. I'd like to see a server like that.
I have an unpopular opinion.[...]
Honestly, I agree with you 100%. And not just in Minecraft, but also in Terraria, Borderlands, Torchlight... just any game where you can jump from milestone to milestone, or find a hidden developer weapon kind of deal. There's always that one friend who rushes content. And they all ask why I never want to play with them, or why I stick to single player, or lan with just my brother.
"oh you play on peaceful you're not playing the game right" Fuck you, I play MC to relax.
Same here, when I do play. A couple years ago a neighbor (he's about 4 years younger then me) bugged me to set my game to hard when I had it on Peaceful. So I did and I lost all my hard earned shit. I had built a beautiful castle by hand, mining for every piece. after I died I was so damn frustrated I just gave up on the world.
I don't like how if you wanna play on peaceful food is basically useless i wish that hunger and mobs could have different scales. because I enjoy farming and fishing but its pointless even on easy because hunger can't kill you and the mobs are such bitches on hard i just wanna have starvation and no mobs at the same time.
Reply just as the title suggests, and give your reasons. For example, I dislike how Minecraft is becoming more and more adventure-like instead of the original "Fight to Survive" and sandbox-ey mode ever since the Wither came out. When I first played Minecraft (Beta 1.4), it was all about surviving and building beautiful structures, all without an ending objective. Now, it has become more and more of a go-and-fight-the-enderdragon like game.
yeah I think it should be open to more styles of playing.. for myself I am super into building things and making a pretty house and having animals.. I love mining too though but I do not like to go off fighting stuff. That does not interest me at all
I don't know about you guys, but I find a certain thrill in the painstaking work of mining and having to keep your eyes open for sneaky mobs. Really, I find the best part about having mobs around is that they encourage me to work harder towards achieving my goals. As a result, I've always made sure to build neat, organized and well lit mine tunnel paths so that they cannot disturb me while I work. On top of that, their existence causes me to come up with clever ways of defeating them and building defenses against them. It's so fun doing that! But that said I do enjoy a bit of peaceful on occasion, and it does extremely piss me off when someone looks down on me because they think it's the ultimate pansy mode. I've built entire towns, cities, and castles whilst under attack by mobs. I can do peaceful whenever the hell I want thank you very much.
My problems are just with how the game handles. Even after 2 upgrades Minecraft is still laggy, even worse yet the world rendering is broken in such a way that vast parts of the world don't render. I mean seriously, how am I supposed to play when I can't even see where I'm going? Ok so now 29b is out. I'm stunned that in fixing the problem I just described, now there are problems with blocks disappearing after breaking. I don't see how they are related.
The amount of caves is too damn high, there should be at leas 4 times less
The amount of caves is too damn high, there should be at leas 4 times less
Yeah, the underground is like Swiss cheese.
I wouldn't mind fewer, but larger caves.
I want more options in food. I'd like a more variety of crops to grow, with more things you can craft with them. It'd be great if you can grow corn and eat it raw or smelt it for "corn on the cob"; or grow rice. Those two are such a staple crop around the world, I wonder why it's not added. And on the other hand, I really would like a food you can eat straight from the ground. I hate starving to death the first couple days on a hard difficulty map because I'm waiting for wheat to grow. Sure, you can eat carrots or melons, but not only do they feed very very little, they're almost nonexistant unless you find a village or a jungle. Maybe if they added a berry bush or something, or a fruit tree that has visible fruit you can knock off.
I would like the possibility of eating seeds for a small amount, just to help with the first few days.

Plus the other ways you can get food like farming animals, apples from trees, fishing, rotten flesh + milk, milking mooshrooms, and some other stuff I probably forgot to mention. I think we have enough methods of getting food.
I was unaware you could eat cocoa beans...

I honestly hate the hunger system, I feel like I can't go anywhere without a a stack of meat.
I honestly hate the hunger system, I feel like I can't go anywhere without a a stack of meat.
I don't mind the lacking the ability to run, but losing health and dying in the long run is a bit ridiculous.
The community is shit. Single player is boring as fuck We seriously need more stuff to entertain us and make us feel like were not alone in SP
I honestly hate the hunger system, I feel like I can't go anywhere without a a stack of meat.
The thing is though with all the ways of getting food this really shouldn't be a problem. It made sense to me, literally always working except when you're sleeping, IF you sleep that is, and not even needing to eat? And the old food system was kinda OP really, just right click like 3 times and you're back to full health.
Might be beating a dead horse, but this thread reminded me why I dislike Minecraft the most: because it lacks Focus. Really, what's it trying to be? A Sandbox-Survival game? A Survival-Horror game? Or a Fantasy Adventure-RPG? Just what?! Minecraft clearly doesn't know what it's trying to be, and that's the reason why we have been getting all these unnecessary updates in the first place. Having a "final boss" just obliterates the idea of it being a Sandbox game, even if the game still continues on: What's the point? There isn't a "Hardmode" like Terraria for example that add's new content, nor anything looking forward after beating the Ender Dragon, other than just building more structures in your world. Again, what's the point of having him in the first place? It doesn't know whether if it wants to become realistic, fantasy, or both: the biggest elephants in the room being Gold tools, the current World Gen, etc. I agree that the game's artstyle is very dev-texturish, meant to look retro, only to look very barebones and bland; it's not the worst thing ever, but still bleugh. Dock (aka: the artist that got fired in 2010 because notch is a cunt nugget) clearly had a style going on for the game, even if it was still simple: Thanks Notch, for kicking out your only artist working on the game. Now you have fun trying to make the textures and models yourself without almost any professional knowledge. Honestly, the game should of stayed Beta, because it's clearly not a finished product at all. It was only released because it's Popularity skyrocketed after 1.8, and suddenly, the community became filled with people who contributed nothing to it and instead made it "Youtube: The Game", and Notch became lazy and said "fuck it im done" and gave the torch to another idiot who is doing even a worser job than him. Minecraft is still a very good game in it's own right, but after realizing seeing what it has become throughout the years... ...Yeah, back to Starbound and Terraria for me.
Minecraft used to be fun for me, back when you could run a bunch of mods on it, but now those mods just keep dying off with each game update. Like most old beta players (Beta 1.7.3 was my first version), I got into the mods since base game go boring very quickly and now we depend on the mods to enjoy the game. Now a game that used to be about building and exploring is basically being turned into another Vista, with a ton of completely useless features being added, while a desperately needed feature is constantly being held back (I'm talking about the mod API that was promised so long ago). To make matters worse, there is a group of people I refer to as "Jeb-culters", since they praise him for every update and attack anyone who says anything bad about him in forums. I haven't even updated my copy of Minecraft past version 1.2.5, since half of the mods I used are dead and the remaining ones are scattered across several different versions of the game. To me, the future of Minecraft is going to be a bloated pile of junk and a huge graveyard of mods, even at the time of this posting I'm trying to find a viable replacement to a once fun game.
I really cannot understand why rabbits are tameable. There's no reason to have one following you around, they don't fight, they don't deter any mobs, you can't even stop them from following you around if you don't want them to get killed when you do something dangerous. In fact, taming them is actually detrimental to you, because then you can't stop them from teleporting out of their pen, making them difficult to farm. They don't even do anything cute like cats climbing onto furnaces/chests or wolves turning their heads when they want food. Also don't have sounds, which makes killing the feel weird. I really hope they update them more, at present they come across as really lazy and pointless mobs.

Which is kind of useful. Not very, but kinda.
