What if we could use our Wii U tablets and 3DS to pay for things using amiibo's NFC?!!?!? 0_o
It would be wonderful to be able to pay for things using a Wario amiibo.
It would be wonderful to be able to pay for things using a Wario amiibo.
Considering your choice in amiibo you'd probably end up getting your credit card information stolen.
Hyrule Warriors Spinoffs clearly count, because look at Mario's pixel amiibo and the Mario Party line.
It's not a Mario Party line, it's a Mario line that was first introduced and implemented with Mario Party. Also, I don't think SMM really counts as a spin off. Admittedly, as most of its content will be user-generated levels, it's not really a main series game, but to group it with the likes of Mario Party and Mario Kart isn't really fair either, it's still main series gameplay.
It would be wonderful to be able to pay for things using a Wario amiibo.
Oh yeah, Nintendo should totally do this Like, just as a niche service lol
I'd consider Mario Maker a spinoff seeing as it's a level design kit with a bunch of mario paint stuff. Though fine, I'll toss out Star Fox U yet and how it doesn't seem to have a second amiibo for fox and it's something Miyamoto himself is working on. Or how there's a Hyrule Warriors 3DS coming out soon as well as Tri-Force heroes.

You're comparing characters who already have Smash amiibos to a character who has a non-Smash amiibo with the possibility, even if it's slight, chance of getting into the game. If he does get into the game, he's going to get a second amiibo, no questions asked. Why wouldn't he? All playable characters in Smash have, or will be getting an amiibo that are specifically apart of the Smash lineup. He's going to have completely new art that will then transition into an amiibo. I don't really see where this part of the argument is going.

I just cannot fathom him ever, for any reason getting a second amiibo at all because where is the demand? SK isn't out in Japan, and I think some other regions don't have him so where would the demand be? It's why I find him getting 1 alone is mind blowing. It's the same reason I don't think he'd work in smash no matter how great the game is or how lovable the character is- he's only really known (as far as I know) in the west. I just don't get why there has to always be more for people instead of just being happy about it, especially when there's literally no proof. The Arwing thing was just a rumor iirc and never actually confirmed. I know Miyamoto said he wanted to make one but that's as far as it got I think?
Hyrule warriors for the 3ds should be fun but Tri-Force heroes looks crap
People really, really need to stop setting themselves up for crushing disappointment at every opportunity they get It's not healthy
That's where the fun comes from, but I understand if people don't like to have fun. [editline]28th August 2015[/editline] Honestly if it wasn't for all this Shovel Knight stuff, Smash news would be dead atm.

The thread doesn't HAVE to always be exploding, I don't mind watching replays people post or seeing what's goin on.

I thought this was already known a few pages back, there are way too many things supporting this rumor to make it unworthy of discussion. Sure it can be false at the end, but comparing the Shovel Knight stuff with that one time Shantae's voice actress was on IMDb Smash Cast is unfair.

That's literally it. We've had the spanish site amiibo for awhile now, so it's not like it was a purely out of the blue guess and the only other thing about it is "there's a really nice movelist" where people in this thread have thought about it themselves. I've come up with a captain toad movelist with a lot of details in it, that's literally nothing. When asked last night about it some of the guys went "u-uh it's coming later!" changing their story entirely. It's baseless.

Nah, there is literally no evidence. That's why it's baseless. No screenshots, nothing.
Nah, there is literally no evidence. That's why it's baseless. No screenshots, nothing.
You don't need evidence for a rumor, dude.
The thing is it's not being treated as a rumor anymore. Anyone who gives evidence or points out why it's flimsy or why the rumor is no longer true gets shot down with "it's a rumor you don't know that!" Rumor giver said something -> got proven wrong -> and instead of dropping it and looking at the brighter side of things it keeps getting parroted.
Rumor giver said something -> got proven wrong -> and instead of dropping it and looking at the brighter side of things it keeps getting parroted.
Well I can't argue with that, the guy did say it would have been in PAX and wasn't if I remember correctly.
Well I can't argue with that, the guy did say it would have been in PAX and wasn't if I remember correctly.
Yeah, the thing was "it will be at pax, the megaton is he's in smash." When it was just the amiibo it suddenly changed to "it'll just come later." which, in my opinion completely undermines how big a deal shovel knight getting a amiibo in the first place is.
I sure do love smash Bros do you guys
I sure do love smash Bros do you guys
I hate video games.

Why should that even matter? Just because a character comes from a game (or game series) that was released only in one part of the world, doesn't mean that they should be restricted to that part of the world only when getting them featured in a game thats getting released worldwide becomes a possibility. I mean, look at both Marth and Roy when they were featured in Melee. Now at the time of Melee's development, the Fire Emblem series was Japan-only, and when Melee was released and people unlocked those characters, almost nobody outside of Japan knew who they were or where they came from! But because of their inclusion in Melee, Nintendo was motivated to release Fire Emblem games in the West at last. If that could happen with Fire Emblem in the west, i'm sure that the same could happen with Shovel Knight in Japan IF ever he does become a character in Smash.
I hate video games.
Yeah, look at all these nerds and their inferior tastes.

It's kind of a big difference. Not to mention the fact that those two were almost japanese exclusive characters in the first place and were going to be removed from western releases. Not to mention on top of all that they were from the start, and not DLC.
It doesn't matter. Sakurai said that the rest of the DLC characters are going to be fan service. If Shovel Knight by some miracle is that high up in the Smash Ballot to the point where able to notice this, he has great possibility of making it into the game.

This is what I meant by the rumor being wrong and people just choosing not to let things go.
Some things though are just unrealistic, if Banjo and Kazooie get to the absolute top they still won't be added due to being Xbox-owned characters now no matter how much "fanservice" it is.
I mean, IIRC, neither the IP holders/curators at Microsoft nor Nintendo have any problem with this. I know Microsoft outright said sure, and Nintendo's last statement was "we're not totally opposed to the idea," or something to that effect. [editline]t[/editline] And mind you, current Xbox lead Phil Spencer has a good relationship with Nintendo, praising them numerous times. If anyone could make it work, it's him. He's openly admitted to having a WiiU and playing Splatoon religiously for crying out loud.
Yeah, Phil Spencers a cool guy and both companies aren't openly hostile to each other but to me it's comparable to going in a game store and asking for Mario on a xbox. The companies are nice to each other but they aren't going to really promote each other.
This is what I meant by the rumor being wrong and people just choosing not to let things go.
People wanted Shovel Knight in ever since the ballots opened. Latest rumors have nothing to do with it. At no point was I saying "Shovel Knight will be in the game." I am merely defending the possibility of it happening.
