Though again, it really does all depend on the player. A friend of mine plays an excellent hyper-aggressive Bowser, and he's able to make it work with quick and consistent reads.
... Smashboards has the incentive of being one of the most iconic places in competitive Smash. Reddit... Why should people outside of Reddit care about their tier list, again?
Because people here want to shit on Reddit. I don't exactly think Reddit's community is excellent either guys, but we don't have to throw a fit every single time /r/smashbros does their monthly community voted tier list, because like what spiritlol said, it doesn't really matter. Also, just because you can "destroy" people on For Glory with a "low tier" character doesn't mean they don't belong near the bottom.
Yeah that's true. ganon, mewtwo, samus, zelda are all pretty garbage in their current state. at high level play they don't have too much of a chance. there's nothing wrong with using them, but their toolkit limits them in the grand scheme. hopefully buffs come for the lower tiers to put everyone in a competitively viable spot. that's a pretty hefty dream though. [editline]1st September 2015[/editline] zelda maybe less so, just requiring a lot of precision
I don't think anything under the category of "decent" should be that low in a tier list. When you have that many tiers, anything at the bottom should be considered utter shit.
The sad thing is when it comes to smash, the bottom tier is actually still good. Just goes to show how balanced the game is. :v: Some characters just require more skill to learn, and that's what I think the lower tiers mean. Anyone could easily learn Shiek/Mario/Pikachu/etc and get away with it with less practice than other characters. That's how I treat it at least.
She is the eternal queen of timing matches out into percentage decision. As weak as her offensive tools can be, her defensive ones are unmatched.
Obnoxiously so. Good Rosalina players aren't fun to fight against, neither are Sheiks or ZSS players, they're all so damn formulaic and yet if you aren't using a high tier character or really know what you're doing, you're most likely going to get shit on.
this is a wifi tournament match I did earlier today. I felt fucking horrible for this win lol, because the other guy is a much better ganon than I am, but I still laughed. there was very real salt after this though sakurai pls
ZSS' aerial dominance is so oppressive. I know it fits her moveset of extremely punish heavy tools, but I still don't like fighting her.

I fail to comprehend how Shulk hasn't gotten higher in the tier list yet.
I fail to comprehend how Shulk hasn't gotten higher in the tier list yet.
Because no top level players have really explored what potential he has, hes still a very underdeveloped character.
I think Shulk has a lot going on for him, between the mode changes, a lot of his attacks have hitboxes that take up half of the playing field :v: Plus his smash attacks with the delayed beam effect can really screw you something fierce if you forget about them. I forget about them a lot :downs:
i can't believe that i would be the only one to feel that Our Already Perfect King is way underrepresented. Dedede is goddamn nasty in good hands--mind games out the wazoo--and i wish more people would explore his potential.
Shulk is a lot higher in customs-on because of hyper monado arts (substantially greater trade-offs for a shorter time)
I fail to comprehend how Shulk hasn't gotten higher in the tier list yet.
bad frame data. he has range, but if you can space him out properly, he becomes pretty useless. his attacks just come out too slow

THIS FCUKING GUY. He was the nicest guy I met at AX on the first day. He came to the con with his own life sized amiibo box and platforms. I went up to him to ask him for a picture and he said, “Wait. For you, something special.” and HE PULLED OUT A FUCKIGN AMIIBO PLATFORM FOR ME. Then he was like “You’re a part of smash now. Welcome.” and I was an amiibo with Ike. "

Dedede is goddamn nasty in good hands--mind games out the wazoo--and i wish more people would explore his potential.
Seriously, DeDeDe was buffed pretty heavily in Smash 4 and I feel that a lot of people disregard the buffs that DeDeDe/Ike/Bowser got just because they aren't lightning fast and/or combo friendly characters like Shiek, Diddy, Rosalina, Sonic, etc.
ike is deceptively fast on the ground, and autocanceling aerials do a ton of good for his combo game. dash attack isnt the safest move, but it's improved killing power makes it something worth using at times. I've used it pretty effectively to cover unsafe landings and high recoveries to the ledge. his offstage game is underrated as well. as long as you don't fastfall or waste your jump, you have a pretty safe zone of influence offstage.
So aside from FG, any good ways to improve my Marth game? It's been a while since I played and I need to start feeling things out again after the massive amount of updates I'd missed.
Fighting Lvl 50 vanilla amiibos is very good practice. That's how I buffed my Ganon game. [editline]2nd September 2015[/editline] That is to say fully trained amiibos that haven't been buffed or nerfed with equipment
anther's ladder
[t]http://i.imgur.com/qOeDKyd.jpg[/t] The rich get richer, the poor shuffle around a bit
I main Dr.Mario and I use Palutena as a secondary, and I can definitely tell you that these two don't deserve to be on the same rank in the tier list. I also can't understand why Wario is under characters like Falcon or Villlager despite only having shitty grab angles as one of his few weaknesses. Thankfully I main a number of characters including Luigi and Pikachu because otherwise I would feel pretty sad. At least everyone seems to agree that Samus/Zelda are dead last.

[editline]2nd September 2015[/editline] That is to say fully trained amiibos that haven't been buffed or nerfed with equipment
I just might try that.
anther's ladder
That looks pretty interesting. Thanks, both of you.
I should really use Anther's Ladder too, I think FG is running pretty dry for me. That said, every time I look into using it I suddenly start feeling self-conscious and go back to fighting randoms on FG :s:
fighting people on fg is a pretty good way to reassure yourself that youre not absolutely trash at the game at the very least [editline]2nd September 2015[/editline] unless you are the fg stereotype in which case I'm so sorry

Like me?

I can never tell if I'm getting better at a character or if I'm just facing a string of bad opponents. [editline]2nd September 2015[/editline] I think I'm starting to get the hang of Megaman and the good doctor at least.
For Glory isn't really a good test of skills. Almost everyone is either bad or spams cheap shit. I can't even enjoy playing it anymore.
I usually get decent opponents online because I mostly play late at night. I really wish I had more people to play local with though.
