64's shields had very high shield regen and very low shield degen so even though you can lock an opponent into a shield break, it takes multiple hits to do so, but Smash 4 has very low shield regen and very high degen.
I agree with most of your post but this bit is incorrect, Smash 4 actually has lower shield degen than Melee and 64 and has brawl shield regeneration. The game has incredibly high shield damage though, moves do full damage to shields unlike older games where they shield damage was reduced.
Hmmm... it seems Puff's moves are a LOT safer on shield now thanks to the changes in shieldstun.

That's what Hungrybox suggested on his Twitter. Don't know why everyone's suddenly assumed Jigglypuff was killed in this patch.

Melee and Brawl had the same amount of shield regeneration, Smash 4 is slightly slower with 90% the regeneration rate of Melee and Brawl. 64 is nearly double the regen rate of SSB4 and half the degen rate, so what I said wasn't really wrong. In addition, Smash 4 does have less shield HP than 64 or Melee did PLUS moves with increased damage on shield, which is partially why shields break so easily.
So does this shield stun business mean you can't quickly drop shield after the first hit of ryus shield breaking forward tilt?
leffeb got denied entry to the US, so won't be there at TBH this weekend

Nope. Unless you powershield it or are a light character (who can sometimes be pushed just barely out of the way of the second hit), you're fucked.
Unfortunately, it's true. Because her moveset originally started as a joke character design, when it was made actually usable in Melee, it basically became her bread-and-butter against specific character archetypes. Now the problem is that rest has become the identity of what her moveset is about, which inherently makes it impossible to buff Sing fairly to be usable because at any point that you make Sing not-terrible, you are basically allowing autocombos into rest. Granted, at this point I don't think people would mind Jiggs getting a new moveset or at least being "Falconified" (Falcon got a new standard and aerial moveset between 64 and Melee aside from specials, although his specials work very differently in 64 and he got side B so it was basically an entirely new moveset), especially when everyone anticipated they'd give her some Fairy-type aspects yet never really did.
No idea what you're on about with regards to Captain Falcon, in melee the only changes to his aerials moves other than the standard addition of startup lag were Fair was changed into Nair and the knee was added. Apart from that his moveset is almost entirely the same with the exception of a new forward smash and a side B move. A better example of a character being significantly changed would be Luigi. Jigglypuff isn't unusable in 64 at all, she's arguably the 5th best character in a roster of 12 where almost all of them are viable.
Also why is everyone saying "drop shield" referring to letting go of shield? Shield dropping is falling straight through a platform out of shield.

Yea the place I was getting my info from was out of date or wrong I guess because I found data values that match what you said. My bad bb.

Because like you literally just said, it's "shield drop" not "drop shield", two different things that are both said lol. Surely you can figure out what we mean, anyways.
god don't let this become an argument that would be the dumbest argument ever lmao

not gonna lie, this shit wasn't as significant as I was expecting. Played for 2 hours with some people and I think there was only two times I even noticed it, both times resulted in the player DI'ing out of it. But I'm sure once people learn some more shield break set ups this will be pretty entertaining, at least for tournaments
People reverse engineering SSBMelee to find out how some of the techs work and see how the game ticks discovered a new, intentionally coded tech that reduces knockback by 5% when pressing R or L in specific scenarios. It even has a variable in a table to go with the code so it is not by any means a glitch.

Aside from forward air becoming neutral air and getting a new forward air, as well as up air being altered in mechanics but keeping a similar animation, he got a new up smash with a totally different use, a new forward smash, a new down smash, a new down tilt, up tilt no longer was designed as a multihit move, Falcon Punch is no longer is a quick move/combo finisher, up B is much harder to use as a command grab and Falcon Kick is no longer as useful as an approach tool due to being slower but is now also usable as a recovery move (intentional or not) by using a mid-air jump out of down B, although Brawl removed this.
Most of his moveset actually was extensively redesigned.

Oh lol, I main Captain Falcon in 64 and I rarely use most of those moves so I guess I forgot they were different

As a Smash4 Link main, I'm really liking this new update
Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but I just noticed the replay limit is no longer 3 minutes.

How long is it now? 4?

I'll test it out, give me a few minutes.

Lol, they only added 15 seconds. What a fucking tease, I was hoping for at least 5 minutes.

If I had to guess, I'd say they added 15 seconds so a star/screen KO won't push a match over the time limit.

But if they can add 15 seconds why not more?
The first thirty seconds here made me excited

The secret to learning how to play smash is to not care at all if you lose.

Sudden Death.
I had a replay that totaled over 3 minutes before this update. I think it's for the victory screen, like you get 3 minutes of match time and then anything after that is included.
A new glitch surfaced that stops Diddy from being grabbable.
If he drops shield while getting hit by a multi-hit attack (Kirby's jab for example), it takes effect and he can't be grabbed until he is killed.

Edge guarding the psi kids is so fun. The only thing I have to say about your Ryu is try to incorporate the focus attack dash cancel more. It gives you insane air mobility that makes Ryu really safe when people try to juggle him.

I wish I was kidding too lol
It also stops command grabs like Kirby & DDD's swallow and Ganon's Side-b.
time for a BAN
