yeah pretty much. this news, if it really is happening, could leak pretty much any day now. we all know how leaky smash dlc usually is.
For all the plumbers in Smash Brothers, you would think they would do a better job at preventing leaks.
Mario and Luigi really need to step up their game or they will be out of a job.

Adder for AW representation.

Obviously we need a Luigi clone to fix this!

No we need Hawke.
He'd be a clone of Ganondorf.
It'd be an interesting social experiment to run a long con about knowing about a newcomer's identity, just to see how the Smash community would react to a mess like this.
"tits or gtfo" really is a good mindset to have when it comes to claims on the internet. Fucking post proof or get the fuck out. No-one is interested in your vague open-ended statements about details that may have been changed from when you found out about them, my uncle who works at Nintendo can provide better information then that.

Personally, I see no harm in saying you know it (my friend asked to know it, learned it, and went on her merry way), but if you're flopping around the idea that you "know" who the next challenger is, no one's gonna give a shit.

Nah, Nell or Andy for recognition.
In all honesty, I would LOVE to have an Advance Wars rep in smash(not an assist trophy), but I know that's not realistic and there's probably no chance unless they make another one. There's so much potential with something like an Andy/Max/Sami swap mix fighter or representatives from Orange Star, Blue Moon, etc. working together as the allied nations.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but the series itself isn't crazy popular, is it?
The series was decently popular but there hasn't been a game in 7 years. It's kinda funny to me that it shares the same developer as Fire Emblem who has had at least two characters since melee but it took 3 smash games to get even an advance wars trophy.
It's not super popular nowadays, but it was hot shit back in the GBA era. Actually, it's warm reception in the US was confirmed as a reason why FE was brought over as it showed that there was an audience for strategy games in the US.
"But for SRPGs, you’ve got to know the rules before you start. So, with Advance Wars, even though there wasn’t a plan to release it outside Japan, we made it really easy to play. We put a really good tutorial in, so people didn’t need to read the manual. And when the US marketing people played it they came to us and said: ‘But this is great! Why can’t we sell it over here?’ And it seems that Advance Wars’ success shifted Nintendo’s attitude over western tastes.” Nishimura, who also worked as director on Fire Emblem, makes it clear that game would never have been released in the west had AW not paved the way.
They could tie that in really well if they made a new advance wars and then put an aw rep in, which would raise awareness.
Apologize for my dreaming in the thread, but I'll always hold that slight hope that maybe someday it'll happen! There's always next smash too.
This whole thing makes me wonder why it's always Smash that gets its reveals leaked, assuming that our assumptions about the next character are correct.
It's a highly popular game where people are information hungry. Someone will always find out and someone will always leak it.
They can try to prevent leaks by making sure that nothing gets out until announced. But there could always be an employee with a blabbermouth and leak it. Which sounds like what happened here with several people hinting at it.
Mario Kart also got several of the track DLC pack #2 filenames leaked in advance, but almost no one made a fuss about it, despite Neo Bowser City being one of the tracks that could be inferred from the filenames.

I think part of the reason that they dropped AW is because Andy's, Sami's and Max's story arc of 3 games is over and the last AW game didn't even involve their universe, and we all know that the Advance Wars-Advance Wars: Black Hole Rising-Advance Wars: Dual Strike timeline is the only one many people actually are interested in, really.
Of course, they could just shoehorn a new plot device into their world but at some point you are just making their world sound like it's a complete anarchy if you continue it too long.

I dunno, I'd say that the latest AW game was fun on it's own, without having to delve into the base games stories. It explored interesting concepts in both story and gameplay, and deserves a sequel of some sort.

Gonna make this short since this is the Smash Bros. thread, but they could definitely work something out. Have a huge time skip with people related to the past cast, or do some 'in another world but actually the same universe'. In the end of the day, I'm looking for a strategy game that has it's own cute charm. Not to say Days of Ruin was bad, but I guess I'm more fond of the original game's trilogy and it's artstyle+view of the world.
Now talking on Smash, what would you guys say is your favorite Smash 4 stage that's not battlefield/final destination? Personally I'd have to say the Mario Maker stage is pretty fun if i'm looking for some variety. My family has a blast with those stages.

I really want to like Magicant but Flying Man just ruins it for me. I do like Suzaku Castle despite there being walk offs though.

That is one ugly pose.
Winning screen font is possibly wrong.
The jumping animation looks exactly like the Mii Gunner.
The congratulations picture looks like Mii Gunner's side a with ink on top of it.
And the top picture is a photoshopped Little Mac.
I swear to god if they make the Inklings a clone of Mii Gunner I will have a meltdown.
I love that DLC has allowed for the torch of speculation and fake Smash leaks to be carried onward.

I don't want to believe...
I hope there's more than 1 character when the next set of characters get released
Lucas, Roy and Ryu spoiled me
I don't think they would have more then one character done. We still have the ballot to think about. Unless these are characters they have been working on for months.
If not just expect the character, a stage, and 20 more Mii outfits that mean nothing outside of offline and with friends.
And that is why Wolf is so convenient: most of the work was already done (like Lucas), and he is one of the top requests. Everybody wins.
Wolf's aerials were the most fun aerials.

Wouldn't that be pointless, then? Because, if they do make the inklings a clone of the Mii Gunner, what's the point in buying it?

Being able to play it in the onlines mode and in tournaments.
