Why do most Smash 4 combo videos feature tons of clips where only two-to-three move inputs are linked into each other or alternatively abuse jab locks?
Serious question since I know there are longer strings possible.

Because characters rarely have attacks with set/low knockback and throws send people too far.

impressive, but the 'Beat Lock' is entirely reliant on the opponent recovering in place, no? couldn't you just roll out of it?
yo did anyone go to CEO? just got back in, holy shit that was an amazing experience

no, the mega buster and other weak jab moves do something called a jab reset, which forces your opponent to get up in place without attacking
I'm kind of surprised that they didn't properly fix Brawl's jablock when transferring the engine to Smash 4. Instead of removing it outright or making it work like a jab reset (where they're forced to get up if this scenario occurs in Melee as they do not bounce back into range like in Brawl or Smash 4 and thus can not be looped into the stun like this), it instead pops them upward on the third consecutive jablock hit (which honestly makes them even more vulnerable than a Brawl jablock since you could DI the jablock to get out without being hit if they tried it for too long, whereas the new format lets the person doing the jablocking prepare to do another jablock in the opposite direction), which indicates that they actually are aware that it exists.
The jewel case or the CD? Because if it's the jewel case you can probably find a replacement on Amazon.
The CD, it somehow managed to crack internally or something. Both disks are like this:

I tried playing the CD anyway but it only manages three seconds of the first track before it throws a hissy fit and dies.
I still haven't gotten my soundtrack CDs
I just had an amazingly coherent dream where there was a new Smash update that let you use any game that has a smash bros character as an option/costume/whatever as an alternate costume for that character. That could probably be worded better, but for example I was using Monster Hunter 4's Palico Mario as a costume for Mario, sounds and all.

Your jewel case is in better condition than mine

Meanwhile my OST came in perfect condition and is now collecting dust in a drawer. Sorry that your copies came in shit.
The OST is really nothing more than a nice memento. It's not worth actually listening to when you can easily find a ZIP file with all of the music.

did you win
Mario and Luigi Paper Jam is giving me that extra smidgen of hope for Paper Mario being added to the roster.
Also imagine stage DLC with some more Mario and Luigi/Paper Mario music. Would be hella.

I got 2-0'd twice in SmashU but I found drunk Shroomed's earrings twice, kicked out of the pool by D1, hit Leffen in the face, and finally accepted as Mango's son

also I got to play with ZeRo; he and GimR gave me some decent practicing tips and advice

Would love to see some Superstar Saga music love in the form of remixes by Yoko Shimomura.
Any UK people going to Heir II the throne?
I was really tempted, but since I'm broke as shit I decided not too. Gonna spend the next year brushing up my Project M and go next year when I'm rich and sexy.

Pretty much this for me. I'm hoping next year there will be a couple more big tournaments if Heir is successful again this year.
Been thinking about setting up some bi-weeklies in Cambridge at some point for the next year, start having some local meetups instead of having to netplay in the UK.

I might, but it's not looking good. Depends if I can get the cash in time.

Half of the reason why I enjoy the Smash Documentary is because it shows a lot of people playing Marth, Samus, and Captain Falcon. All in which we rarely see nowadays unless that person is specifically known for their outlandish pick in the sea of Fox and Falco.
That feel when you main Mac and you face a cocky-ass Mario whose strategy is to wait on the ends and spam fireballs and taunt when he kills you and you beat him~~~~
I got hbox to retweet me yay

marth is more common than falco i'm pretty sure, and peach grew in popularity once armada started dominating and is still pretty prominent as is falcon. AXE is also getting insane results with pika. melee is honestly pretty varied for a game that people have been optimizing for 10+ years.

Yeah at top play all you see is Fox because Fox gets results
go to any of your locals and you'll see that weird guy who mains kirby in Melee for some reason and can still JV4 you
