Playing characters with reflectors against projectile spammers is so satisfying.
Falco is my go-to for dealing with Toon Link players. You take that boomerang away from them and you can just watch them helplessly try to figure out how to actually play Toon Link.
My favorite is Pit's because you can give all sorts of recoveries the finger with it too.
Stand right at the edge and activate it when they've almost snapped to the ledge, they'll get pushed just barely too far away to grab it and fall to their death. Catches new players way off guard.

The most satisfying thing I've ever pulled off in For Glory is swatting away a Villager who was riding his Gyroid with Pit's reflector.
got some good doubles training sessions in with my friends. looks like our best bet for teams is ike (me) and ryu. a lot of the initial matches were full of "shit sorry" because we weren't used to team attack and primary played 1v1. but we started getting the hang of it, and we set up some pretty sick combos by the end of it. a few training sessions later and we might actually have some sort of shot

our tourney is on the 25th so hopefully we'll be ready by then

A reenactment of my ass beating
as long as you played dedede you're a hero in my book
I feel bad for the people who actually have to play against dedede though in any smash game, I've only had to play another dedede like two times and it is probably the worst thing ever
in every game: 10 foot grab, living to 150% plus, up-bing back onto stage forever, the haunting crouch
but it feels too good to stop
I really wish that Megaman had a side-tilt. The standard megabuster constantly screws me because I can't push another direction to cancel the three-hit combo.

I want to be good at using Megaman, I really do, but I just can't get the hang of him.

I love meg's ftilt. learning the different properties of all his lemon attacks is crucial. ftilt approach, jump to point blank nair or jab/shop away, good mix ups all around.

mega man is one of the harder characters to use properly, but he has some amazing tools for just about any situation once you learn him

watch zucco, stylesx2, and chillins megamans. they are good, they will teach you the stuff

Nothin heroic about the slaughter last night. I went in thinking I would lose bad and it was disgusting. Grown man kicks flailing baby really hard.
It also dawned on me that I haven't actually really played the game in months. Like I pop it in and play 2-3 rounds with my friends and stop like once every couple weeks but that's it. Where has time gone :(
One day I'm gonna get really good with Ganondorf and murder you all, I swear.
Ganondorf players are so much fun to watch, he's so slow but his battlefield control is amazing when used properly. Ganondorf is one of those characters I'll never get upset to lose to.
Holy fucking shit I just found out that I can do Smash attacks with the right stick on the gamepad
my mind is blown, I got so much better

You can also do aerials with the C-Stick. Helps when doing dairs without going fast-fall.

Whats a dair?
Also, met another douche, he changed hs profile to "You're a bitch" after beating me and then he left.
Down air

Dair = Down + Air
So Fair is forward air, Uair is up air, you get the idea
Man, I'm loving Ryu :v:

haven't played with the new characters yet and fuck, ryu looks like he hits HARD
Now all I need is some people to actually play with because For Glory is making me cry
Ryu is incredibly satisfying to play, in my opinion. His recovery is slightly below-average (possibly above-average; it gets better horizontal distance than most characters, but worse vertical distance and is pretty predictable), but as a tradeoff, he has the most combo potential in the game, the most moves in the game (yes, moves, see below), the best shield breaker in the game and an efficient repertoire of kill moves.
The only thing that will really take getting used to if you haven't played Street Fighter is that his jab, forward tilt, up tilt and down tilt have totally different properties and animations depending on how long you hold them, his hadouken, shoryuken and tatsumaki senpukyaku special moves have superior versions using the original SF inputs for them and you can cancel down B by tapping left or right twice quickly, which works like an airdash if you need better spacing in the air.

That kick I do on the first gif is my favorite Smash attack. Of all characters. So satisfying.
Does anyone else feel that Roy's Up-B animation looks unfinished? It looks rather stiff and awkward in comparison to a lot of the other animations in the game.

Maybe it's a callback to his Melee incarnation, which was stiff and unfinished :v:

That's actually not the case if you save up one jump and use your side b immediately after you jump, if you do that correctly he should go in a good horizontal and vertical distance. And if that's not enough he'll still have his up b after that too.

I once beat a toon link where both stocks were windbox gimps from Palutena's fsmash. :v: If I still have the replay I'll put the gimps here.

Yea to me Ryu seems like Luigi where his recovery ranges from amazing to utterly worthless depending on the situation.
