It went on before Brawl was even announced. Kate's been keeping it going longer than I've had good enough internet to read it.
I hope they add Balloon Fighter in Smash 5 in honor of Satoru Iwata, now that I think about it.
Up special is Villager's recovery if used in the air, but on the ground it's pumping up balloons to increase Balloon Fighter's recovery and aerials.
Special is deploying a spark; if you hold up/down it'll circle up and down with the distance depending on how long you hold b + up/down after pressing special, same with left and right.
Down special is deploying a flipper (like the Melee flipper). It'll deal light damage but it'll knock enemies a certain direction so it can do combos etc.
Good aerials, not so good on the ground. Attacks for tilts/smashes could include pointed objects for popping balloons (like a pin), balloons bursting explosively, etc.
He'd be sort of like Duck Hunt, but with elaborate trap set ups instead of combo shoots.
Went to a mid-sized tournament with a friend. We're fairly casual players, but still really like the series. We got absolutely demolished in everything we played. Singles for Melee, P:M, and 4, and doubles for 4.

20XX is here
Have been there, can confirm
I was playing team matches in For Fun and the stage we got was Palutena's Temple. I was surprised because that was the first time that stage ever showed up in For Fun for me. It must have a low chance of being picked. Has anyone ever fought on Great Cave Offensive in For Fun?
the huge stages have a lower chance of appearing online
Is the Miiverse stage even on the roster in For Glory/Fun? I haven't encountered it online at all since it came out.

You can't play it online because of the messages.
That victory animation is so fitting for the situation
It took a while, but I'm finally figuring out how to play Lucas decently. It's hard to get material when nobody ever plays him online. Yeah, I know I should watch people playing him on Youtube and whatever but I've never been much for that kind of thing.
Also been trying out Rosalina, she's pretty fun. I need to figure out how to do some of the more elaborate puppeteer stuff, like those placements that can break you out of grabs and interrupt enemies mid-attack.
I find Lucas really fun to play as, he's always the start when I start playing online.
I just started maining Toon Link because he's my favorite character, I do decently without spamming boomerang/Bow but I'd like some advice on how else to play him

bill trinen won't enter at evo because of "change of plans after this news week" (iwata's funeral)

Any advice on how to not spam it? I don't want to be another Toon Link player everyone sees ya know?
Figure out the launch angles of your aerials and chase with them. Toon Link's pretty quick, it's easy to stay on most characters.

You're effectively gimping yourself by not using your projectiles to pester from a range. Overwhelming your opponent with 3 different kinds of projectiles all at once is kinda how Link and Toon Link roll.
Although, I will say this: you didn't mention use of bombs. Bombs are your friend, their small knockback can stun your foe just long enough time to follow up with an air attack if you're close enough. Throw them all about, especially downwards. Even just running at your foe with a bomb in hand can scare them into shielding, which is great for getting a grab. Toon Link's pummel is fairly quick and his back throw is pretty strong for such a small tyke. Since he's nimble, he can chase the opponent down pretty easily to keep up the pressure. I find that running into a grounded Up-B works wonders for players who are giddy with trying to dodge roll behind you.

I'll also add that Link's bomb can be planted on the ground (grab one and drop with air grab) and are great against dash attackers, especially if you leave a small fuse to them. Not sure if it gets eat up by charged projectiles like Samus' B tho. They are great against grab commands too if you have them out for long enough.
Both Links have loads of tools. Just don't spam the same thing. Vary your strategies and approaches.
It's like counter characters. If you use it a lot, other will catch on quickly and punish you for throwing it out too often. But if you never use it, they might not see it coming and once they do a mistake, punish with it. Same goes for Links.
Then again, throwing out the same kind of stuff with any character is a bad idea but not using all their tools is not that smart either.

I really hate when a friend pick that stage. :v:

Bad news tho: Only Link can plant bombs.
Toon Link's explode on ground. Still useful to get the drop on someone.
What are the best special moves for Palutena? I personally find Jump Glide to be much better than her other two recoveries, but I can't decide on what other special moves to stick with.

Try Lightweight, I've seen some sick combos utilizing it
Thanks for the advice! Gonna try practicing them! I just try not to be the generic spam projectiles Link a lot of people run into, I actually rarely use them only when they're too far or they leave themselves open, I'm sure I can make a strategy with mind games using the bomb.

I've heard Explosive Flame, Lightweight, Jump Glide, and Celestial Firework is the best way to go. I only play default Palutena, so I wouldn't know how it fares.
Both Lightweight and Celestial Firework are mapped to Down B. Did you get one of them confused for another move?
