yawn
you can't say yawn with that finish That combo was incredible
rofl yawn my ass that last game was fucking tight
Melee is up on SRKEvo2. Axe vs Hugs (Pikachu vs Samus) semis atm. Hugs wins with Samus, going to winners quarter-finals!
Not saying the games were bad, Zero played a really good Diddy, and I even found myself rooting for him. But the problem is everyone expected him to win, and he won. The game was exciting, but the state of the scene remains the same, which isn't exciting.
PPMD ON STREAM Kreygasm
So anyone know where I find Sm4sh doubles if azprojectmelee isn't streaming it? https://twitter.com/AZProjectMelee/status/622147476250849280
Smash 4 is my favourite smash game. But it would be even better if shield regeneration wasn't as fast as it is, so defensive play is rewarded less. It's why zero wins, he's a very patient player who just sits back and waits for mistakes and punishes them. Rushdown and mixup type play isn't nearly as strong as it should be in the smash 4 engine.
Ken vs Plup let's gooooooo Ken noooooooooooooo
Honestly my favorite of the Smash 4 tourney was Abadango, I really liked his Pac-man and Wario. Those Wafts were just amazing.

I dunno who Druggedfox is but he's tied against Leffen. 1-1. EDIT: Dream is dead.
Whenever the random selection picks Bowser Jr for me I always play him like a complete spamming cunt and throw the match, probably because I once played online against a Bowser Jr who played like a complete spamming cunt.
Javi wanted the last kill way too hard. Duck vs Eddy Mexico (Samus vs Luigi) on SRKEVO3. Interesting matchup due to both being floaty. [editline]18th July 2015[/editline]
it would be even better if shield regeneration wasn't as fast as it is, so defensive play is rewarded less.
Not the actual problem, I believe shield regeneration (alternatively, maybe it's just the overall shield health) is actually the lowest since 64 since it definitely doesn't take as much percentage to destroy as in Melee or Brawl. The real issue is that you can act out of shieldstun way too easily and shield pressure and rolls are the answer to pretty much everything on the ground because the majority of approach options have brutal endlag on shield.
mango just lost to plup
Dat Rest combo from HB was hype as all hellish fucks. Edit : Stop hyping me up, HB GODAMNIT!!!
how can you not like hbox c'mon
how can you not like hbox c'mon
Be Leffen.

There is definitely more to it than just shield regen.
It's shieldstun. You can turn off your shield the frame after it gets hit in Smash 4, there's no such thing as shield pressure.
Final 8 for Melee tomorrow: Armada, Hungrybox, Plup, PPMD, Leffen, Axe, ChuDat, Mango. Peach/Fox, Jigglypuff, Sheik, Falco/Marth, Fox, Pikachu, Ice Climbers and Fox/Falco, respectively. Very solid top 8 with 8 characters being represented, should be quite exciting.
I think Smash 4 having high shield damage but high shield regeneration is actually a really good system but the problem is there are only a handful of characters that can safely and reliably pressure a shielding opponent. It makes perfect shielding kinda redundant because most of the time if you shield an attack your already at an advantage.
haha so about a month back I tried to learn the mega man super glide toss and while I was able to pull it off, it was so inconsistent that it wouldn't mean jack shit. so I gave up on trying it at all. today I decided to boot up training mode and after about 10 minutes I can do it roughly half the time. I think i'm gonna be spending some days in the lab. if I can learn to do it consistently before the tournament then more power to me.

SALTY SUITE
Are you kidding me, I came in to see if I missed every and the first thing I hear is TEAM X ARE THE NEW EVO CHAMPIONS I mean come on. Every single SSB tournament always happens when I'm out, or really early in the morning hours before I get up.
Coming from the Fighting Games thread:
http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/jul/18/street-fighter-5-will-have-16-fighters-launch-four-them-brand-new-capcom-will-continually-add-characters-post-launch/ Eventhubs has pictures of all of the slides. This one especially caught my eye: [t]http://media.eventhubs.com/images/2015/07/18_sf5panel09.jpg[/t] "Don't greatly nerf characters, buff the weaker ones instead." God damn they really seem on the ball with this. It's almost too good to be true.
I hope Nintendo gets the same idea. We discussed it earlier in the thread about buffs on weaker fighters instead of nerfs on stronger ones.
