Good Duck Hunts are fun to play against [editline]23rd June 2015[/editline] On the flipside, playing against even half-knowledgeable Luigis feels pretty futile.
When all my friends get together to play Smash, we have a rule. Not so much a rule as it is a saying. "If you play Sonic even ironically you're a SHET and will be made fun of and ganged up on for playing as the character/franchise equivalent to a Fisher-Price toy."
Whenever I see my friends pick sonic, it's always accompanied with a "That's NO GOOD." from me. Since most of them never saw the cartoon they don't get it.
I've never fought a fun Palutena. Something about her is infuriating to play against whether they're good or bad.
roy is starting to irritate me he's fast as shit, strong as shit, and moves that ought to have a ton of lag on them just don't. he can most times just throw out whatever the fuck he wants without fear of getting punished for it. even his neutral b has like 0 endlag it's nuts.
every character should be as good as roy/pre-nerf diddy because that's more fun to play then shieldgrab bros
every character should be as good as roy/pre-nerf diddy because that's more fun to play then shieldgrab bros
I don't think anyone really disagrees, but in the current iteration of smash Roy's obnoxiously broken. [editline]23rd June 2015[/editline] Online since the DLC has been nothing but Super Roy Bros feat. Those Other Guys for me.
Somebody in the UK come and Netplay me on PM 3.5 daaamn Anthers ladder is full of Americans right now

3 days people also I've been playing like absolute shit these last 3 days what the hell is going on. I've had slumps before but this is the worst one yet
3 days people also I've been playing like absolute shit these last 3 days what the hell is going on. I've had slumps before but this is the worst one yet
I sometimes go through bouts of getting 4 stocked and it's because I get too comfortable and lethargic and just keep throwing out the same attacks Step back, take the time to watch your opponent and plan your moves properly, don't just go into autopilot and run around pushing the C-stick in whatever direction they happen to be in (I'm terrible for this)
Why is this game's idea of difficulty in game modes like classic and all-star mode how easily you deal/take damage and not just how smart the AI is
Are you sure about that? I don't know about All-Star, but it feels to me that the AI gets smarter in Classic mode the harder you set it.
Why is this game's idea of difficulty in game modes like classic and all-star mode how easily you deal/take damage and not just how smart the AI is
Better AI is harder to make than an AI that just does more damage. Plus, an AI could potentially become too good and not be defeatable.
Better AI is harder to make than an AI that just does more damage. Plus, an AI could potentially become too good and not be defeatable.
Doesn't mean that they shouldn't improve the AI, especially if it is clearly derived from Brawl's AI which was actually decent. Other than somewhat tweaking the AI for newcomers and characters with different movesets, the only really major change that they made was making them avoid mines and pokeball pokemon that are active and it still has most of Brawl's AI flaws. This is really strange when Amiibos are actually competent, although they too do cheat when it comes to damage output.
Unless a CPU just stands there and waits for you to attack, there will always be a way to outplay them. Even if they're drastically overpowered in both AI and strength. Just ask my superboss Bowser amiibo
They should just rename classic mode to "get fucked up the ass by RNG" mode tbh.
It still physically hurt me how much they dropped the ball on the WiiU classic mode. Going from intensity 9.0 to 5.5 because you can't do shit in a 8 player free for all on a tiny ass stage such as Onett is fun, right? Seriously i'm never bothering with this extremely poorly programmed game mode ever again.
The patch that added more small maps to the 8-player rotation killed it. It was at least playable before then.
All-Star Mode on hard is pure bullshit.
They should just rename classic mode to "get fucked up the ass by RNG" mode tbh.
Classic mode doesn't even resemble Classic mode anymore. It should've been a separate mode called Conquest or something that doesn't come across as a blatant lie. Classic mode was a recreation of 1P Game. Which was a series of themed challenges. The format was typically v (series character) on (series stage), or v (character team) on (character stage), or + ally v (tag team) on (series stage), with some bonus stages in between, v Metal character, then v polygon/wireframe/alloy/mii team, then Final Destination. Smash 4 just throws shit at a wall and hopes you enjoy it. Even Brawl had the courtesy to at least keep matchups remotely thematic. Hell, even Smash for 3DS did a decent job at that.
Hey remember last thread when I told you about that tournament me and my friend entered and won? Well, here's the final battle in that tournament, I recorded it. It isn't the best sound quality/picture-wise, but you can still see what happens. I'm rob and my friend is Dedede.
God, I wish I had friends to play online with. For Fun is laggy and For Glory is monotonous.

Really wish there was a way to view hitboxes in melee. To this point, I am still confused how some attacks can be easily broken through by others. For example, my friend is using down B on link, and simply goes through my Up Smash with Samus.

More than anything I want to see a balancing hack of Melee (no nerfs, just buffs to characters in need of them) and what that would do to its meta.
in the 20XX hack pack you can display frame data. there's also frame data for every move in the game available on smashboards.
It's like there isn't really a way to go between "Average" to "Good" in Melee, but instead, the jump is from "Average" to "Try Hard" level of Good, where you have to look into the game mechanic details and specifics, such as per-frame animations analysis or training L-Cancel.
love ittt
wow fuckin shoryukened Shulk right out of his counter ryu don't fuck around
