Well at least the K Rool Mii costume is based on his traditional design and not his awful Super Mario Sluggers one.
Still hoping they pull a Meta-Knight and announce him as DLC eventually though.
Me and my little brother found that playing smash to Death Grips Fashion Week is fucking awesome.

Oh of course. Just saying that the solution isn't as easy as "New director." It has to be a director with the same views as you. Replacing Sakurai doesn't mean all of our problems are going to end, the new Smash game could be objectively worse than Smash 4 in every way. Just all depends on the next director's views.

I assume that Nintendo would have good judgement on choosing a successor of a director when/if Sakurai stops making Smash games. Mario Kart 8 was a fantastic example of knowing what fans want and delivering for it, so I have confidence they'd do a good job.

The big problem with Mii fighters is they feel like an after thought, most of their moves are really lackluster and it sucks ass they're not online friendly.

Miyamoto is that one guy in every artistic community who makes really neat unique and recognizable characters but gets SUPER mad if you use them in a way he doesn't approve of.
As much as I respect his talent in design, that's not someone I want directing Smash.

Miyamoto is like Sakurai with ADD. He does random stuff that is good, but has trouble sticking to a model and improving on that, from what I can gather.
Sakurai's main problem is that he is a bit closed minded. He has that vision, but that vision disagrees with the feedback he gets, and he has some trouble working with that.
Just got home with my eshop card. Despite all the arguing I am actually excited for Friday. It will be a fun day regardless I hope :>

Out of curiosity, aside from the Paper Mario: Sticker Star debacle (which I think he pretty much realizes his call was a huge mistake), when does he ever get mad about character usage?
Heck, he's (or at least, Nintendo is) even letting Activision of all companies use Bowser and Donkey Kong.

It's pretty common to hear that he's a strict guy in general. I can't pull up immediate examples off the top of my head but I thought it was pretty well known that he takes his characters super seriously most of the time.

There's a reason they're using Donkey Kong and Bowser instead of Mario and Link.

Both are Japanese game developers who work their ass off on their games to the point of exhaustion, all while receiving a flat salary (so no matter what they get paid the same) and being forced to make sequels due to how popular those games happen to be.

Ah, ok, fair enough. I thought we were talking about characters in general and not just particular ones by him.
I feel that Mario, Luigi, Zelda and Link don't get allowed anywhere near as often because of the infamous CD-i and edutainment NES, SNES and PC games.
