Judging from the announcer's voice lines, there's "Tourney" mode for friendly tournaments (which we just got) and "Official Tourney" which is self-explanatory (which we don't have). My guess is that these are two separate modes.

I took a look at the DLC costumes and it turns out that it technically is colorable, but only on small features like the handguards on the brawlers.
The fact that they went out of their way to make such a small detail colorable makes me wonder why they supposedly didn't think to make the hoodie itself colorable as well.

And no, there's no hints about anything else in the works that I've seen. Nintendo's taking the extra initiative to not accidentally leak anything again, it seems.

IIRC Samus is the character he's played the most since the beginning. He's even kept in the very specific alternate costume he uses - the green one which he calls "mass-produced Samus" - all this time later.

I joked during the big smash event last year "Sakurai said that he thinks Samus is the best in this build, can't wait for people to say he mains Samus"

I seriously think they should just take full criticism from the community in general if they are going to continue patching the game, Luigi's buff in this latest patch is by far one of the most ridiculous ones since the game was released.
And by ridiculous I don't mean the buff itself but the character they decided to buff in the first place. Like come on, Luigi didn't need any changes at all.

anyone here have any experience with anther's ladder? what's it like? for glory is just starting to feel frustrating, and i don't really feel like i learn anything or get any better from it. at least this way i could talk with my opponent and get some critiques and stuff, and maybe find a few friends since pretty much no one i know in real life has a wii u.

i haven't used it for Smash 4 but all the people i've played PM with have been nice and willing to offer advice if i asked afterwards
Anther's ladder is definitely a good resource for finding good people to play against. Just ignore the main chatrooms, they're pretty bad.

Samus is my secondary main, Ganondorf being my main.
Seeing that video reminded me that life is pain.
...At least Ganondorf is getting some buffs
