Anyone get the feeling that hitboxes got super fucked in the last patch? Moves just seem to clip through people, Dedede's back-air literally hits nothing now. I used my Up+B, came down on a guy who had full shield up. It went right through it, but didn't break it. Just ignored his shield, went right through and damaged him with no resistance. Like, it looked awesome, but no way I should have gotten that hit. Even now, just got hit by a dash attack that ignored my full shield. It might just me not having played for a while, but things feel SUPER off. [editline]5th August 2015[/editline] Also, is the online messing things up, or do I just happen to main every character with the worst move priority in the game? Because I've literally had matches where I'll perform a move, the attack will make contact, the opponent will perform a move, my attack will do no damage, and they'll land a hit. It looks like it could be caused by the general shittiness of online play, but then I don't know much about the technical side of fight games. Is there any way I can compensate for this?
Are they actually gonna do 64 mode? I figured that was just an April Fools joke. I mean sure it could be like Turbo mode but I feel like 64 mode would be a tad harder than the latter.
No one knows. It's leaning towards joke but keep in mind that Turbo Mode was ALSO played as a joke at first. I'd really like to see a "true" sequal to 64 though (even if it is by fans), that game had a lot of untapped potential for it's gameplay design that Melee, Brawl and Smash 4 dropped for other playstyles.
turbo mode is so fucking great though

Progress is really slow but it's something.
this whole match is amazing but if you're pressed for time just watch 2:40-2:50
yo fatality is the top player in my state, I've got to watch him play in person he's nuts
also I just found out hungrybox might be moving to Atlanta which means there's a chance I'll get to play hbox in smash 4 at some point :excited:
does hbox usually enter smash 4? i know he played doubles with zero recently but i thought he was taking someone else's place or something.
does hbox usually enter smash 4? i know he played doubles with zero recently but i thought he was taking someone else's place or something.
pretty sure he's been playing singles
HBox is still my favorite Smash player. His pop-offs are hilariously awesome, and he's just a really charismatic player who likes to have fun when he plays. That's why I was legitimately angry when he lost at the first tourney because of Zero.
Look up Project Reality. Progress is really slow but it's something.
Progress on that is less slow and more non-existent. The only parts they've gotten done were adding stages and using other people's coding, the easiest parts. They haven't even dealt with movesets yet which was the whole point.
thanks to the last patch, Lucina's jab 1 > Dancing Blade (final hit must be the downward version) can break shields now. Marth doesn't work since his sourspots don't do enough damage to break shield, and tipper pushes the opponent too far away Can be useful to catch people off guard.

be careful with it on places like FG though, since input lag can work against you, and if they're feeling risky they can try and roll away (although if they mess up, they get a face full of DB)
I wish the Metal Mario stage from SSB64 would come as DLC, that's one stage I would actually buy. It wasn't playable outside of Classic mode originally but it is a pretty good stage. Pretty sure it could be tournament viable too. That would be more original than porting stuff like Sector Z on both versions despite Corneria already being on the 3DS. Which I'm pretty sure is going to happen.

What the hell is with every Smash 4 combo video using annoying white text while the player pulls off some kind of trick? It's annoying and it doesn't need to be there. We came for the combos, not your shitty text commentary.
I mean if you're referring to people like Alpharad than you didn't come for the combos. If you did you're on the wrong channel.
Nah I'm talking about videos blatantly advertised as combo videos, not the "How To Play (Blank) 101" videos.
wait what [editline]6th August 2015[/editline] you mean that big lame out with zss
"Lame out" you mean playing properly?
People lately have been confusing the terms "combo video" and "montage" when labeling their video The former is intended to be informative, the latter is the purest of ego-stroking
"Lame out" you mean playing properly?
its technically playing properly sure but if you think running away for a solid minute is anything but lame then you are mistaken [editline]6th August 2015[/editline] especially because he was losing even by percent lead lol [editline]6th August 2015[/editline] I don't hate zero but it's one of the reasons that clip of him playing brawl and running away as MK only to get caught and smacked out of percent lead at the very last moment is one of my favorite smash clips
He has the right to play the game how he wants, we have the right to individual opinions about it What's the problem?
He has the right to play the game how he wants, we have the right to individual opinions about it What's the problem?
playing like a wiener is lame but to quote somebody some people are born wieners, and they die wieners
Alpharad's 101 videos got really popular, so people just started copying him
I'm pretty sure I saw another guy make one of those videos before Alpharad did. Not saying he copied him or anything, just an observation. It was in this thread too.
little z did similar stuff before alpharad htp101 series I believe
