honestly if luma is killed, it should fuck off until rosa dies too. the thing has a decent health pool and isn't helpless by any means.
it would also force rosa players to actually care about it and use it as a puppet, not a rechargeable pocket shield.
How much health does Luma have? It feels random, like, sometimes it'll last as long as I do, other times it kills itself after literally the first hit it takes.

Also, anyone know the trick to changing direction in the air? Because there can be times where I'll be trying to recover as a character like Peach or Rosa, but I'll be facing the wrong way, making my stellar recovery option utterly useless. The only thing I can think of is to use a Side-B in the direction I want to face, but half the time that takes way too long to be effective.

But I agree that Luma should have one life and only come back when Rosa respawns.
Would punish bad motherly behaviors.
The direction of your recovery can be changed based on which direction you're holding up.
Left/Up+B will reverse your recovery direction if you're facing right for example.
I wouldn't mind if Luma had stocks seeing as it can just die from damage, like you get 3 or 4 but if they die they're gone
i might not watch as much smash4 as some of you guys but i really don't find rosalina that annoying to watch. though the only rosa player i've really watched is dabuz.
she does have a defensive playstyle but i've never seen her straight up camp/stall as much as you guys always seem to suggest she does. does anyone have any footage of a super lame rosalina doing well against a notable player?
Or have all of Rosalina's specials only work if luma is around
Right now you can't use Luma shot or Star Bits, but you shouldn't be able to use the luanch star or the gravitational pull either

B-reversals, you can reverse the direction of any special move by inputting the other direction right after you press b.
With peach for example, if you were facing right and you wanted to face left you could hold diagonally towards the upper left corner of your stick and your parasol would turn you around. You could also tap b and immediately after move your stick to the left and peach would instanly turn around while using her counter.

You know it literally just dawned on me that I never really bothered to try steering anyone's Up+B besides Dedede and Ness/Lucas.

Also, I'd be fine with only one Luma per stock if you could still do a nerfed form of Star Bits even when he's dead.
When Luma's out of the picture, it becomes a game of keepaway until he respawns, just because his absence completely removes any semblance of range that Rosalina has. You either get someone into the air, run away, or get busy dying.
Another change they could make is shared damage between Rosa and Luma. If you hit the luma, it still counts towards percentage (maybe 1/2 damage), and the higher percent the duo is at, the easier it is to kill luma, needing only a couple of decent hits to remove it from play at 100%+
This way at high percentages, even if it respawns quickly, it will die again even faster. What's the point of waiting that timer out if it's just going to be lost again from one combo?

There is literally no punishment for Rosalina losing luma.
She's perfectly capable without it, and if you somehow need it, Rosalina is agile enough to just hide in the corner til it comes back.

There's absolutely punishment. Rosalina is objectively worse off without Luma. It's a matter of how worse off she is, which isn't enough.

To be fair I play like 200% better when I don't have Luma because I find him useless anyways. It allows me to focus more on the task at hand.
