You refer to "Room On Fire " or FaceIt Streamers ?
what's wrong with key's price... was 1,79€ and now 1,99€ :o

its all about money
Continuously shoving out skins via cases would be bad for the game (there's no other way for skin makers to make money, unless they're making stickers). Not only would it shit up the content that can come into the game, the prices of all items would suffer. As well, more cases equal more keys and more clutter and people may get overwhelmed at too much content.
Its kinda true about stickers.... Thats why i made a sticker lately too :D
Anyway check it out:
No its not gonna! reasons? some guy got 13 000 followers (or team) why? beacuse they are there from the start. And yeah sometimes somebody make a skin and he didnt that "popular" and he getting into a case. its a rare thing. The other side of this story is Nextgenz or Darksilver or thos guys put a fkin skin up like every fkin day with their thousends of followers and when our shit finaly got on the first page (most popular this week) its there for a few hours after our shit is gona to the second or third page.
beacuse they uploaded 5 skins at one time. and all of their skins got 200 lik within an hour casue of their followers. thats all!
We are doing this shit cause we wanna get into one of the cases or sticker capsule. And of course for fun, u did skinning cs.s too. so but for cs.go we got more reasons. So for us poor little unfamous guys we got this alternative spamming advertise option. Thats all!
Deal with it!
Peace!
I agree that corporations and organisations making skins really fucks everyone else.
But the thing is, votes are overrated. You don't need a ton of votes to get your skin added. But on the other hand, the only way to grow a 'fanbase' is to get a lot of votes so I know what you mean.
So basically, the already famous people get more famous meanwhile the rest don't get known at all. But we can't blame them for that. It's the workshop that is poorly designed and really needs to be remade.
I still dislike the spamming people do on other workshops though.
Lots of votes ≠ skin getting added People really need to understand this. Votes are just there to filter out the crap & spam. It would take such a long time for Valve to go through all skins otherwise. But like I stated at the top, you don't need a lot of votes for your skin to get added.
It's not like valve goes to the top 10 skins and choose the #1. My P2000 skin was added and it wasn't even in the top 30. it happens more often than people realize.

That's true. The one headshot sticker that was added recently had only 45 ratings.
I'm sure someone at valve occasionally checks the top pages, the most recent pages, and the most popular this week pages. They pick skins that they like and think would contrast well with other skins already picked for a case. I think you need to make a good skins and get lucky. Sometimes if your skin is good enough luck is not needed because people will share it themselves without you having to tell them to do it.
With that said I think they just pick something from the top voted items when they're in a hurry and need to get content for a case fast.
There's many factors that come into play, really.
[editline]Edit:[/editline]
I think the main problem with the workshop is inherited from how easy valve's tools are to use. It's the same problem that greenlight has. They sort of kept the major amount of trash off by making it cost 100$ at least. The easier it is to make skins the bigger the influx of trash skins from kids who don't understand that they are shitting up the workshop with skins that will never get accepted because all they did was take a image off google and plaster it onto a gun.

You end up with your ~decent~ skin getting burried in the workshop before enough people manage to see it. So you have to resort to shady advertising techniques, and if you don't then you have a really low chance of achieving anything.
I much rather have my skin not being famous/added than including myself into this toxic way of adverising my workshop items.

agree, the only place i advert is on discussions but mainly to get real feedbacks like here.
usefull and constructive feedbacks that helps to improve our skills at making skins or stickers.
I am glad, for example, that on my sticker someone talked about the headshot sign that was a lil' too invisible. Tbh i wasnt sure about this too if it would be better more visible.
I'll wait to get more opinions and may update that point.

+1000. This is why there isn't any spam on the Dota 2 workshop. Working in 3D ain't easy and no one wants to spend their time making trash. Meanwhile in CSGO, anyone with barely any knowledge can make a skin.

I totally agree. If my skin gets a lot of votes it gets a lot of votes, if it doesn't it doesn't. I know that Valve picks skins they like and as long as they consider mine worthy they'd eventually pick it no matter how many votes it has.

Yeah like on tf2, modeling and item and texturing it is way harder than just modifying a texture ;).

Yeah its posibble i know, but when in the game lik right now 4-5-6 nextgenz skin or other guys.
Its okay why not? but still there are fkin nice artists and they got 0 art in the game.. they got in the game like 4-5-6 casue of of the all time top rate!
so now they have time to do this casue they becamefkin rich! :D
But really... still "top rated all time" gonna be the jackpot! :D
Working on another sticker ;) kinda funny one. I hope you'll like it.

That's not true at all. Go through the skins that has been added and you can tell that most of them don't have a lot of votes (a lot being over 500)
And honestly, nextgenz works his ass off to make skins, it's not like he copy pastes, his skins are top quality. I understand that he uploads so much, I would too if I had the time.
Working on another sticker ;) kinda funny one. I hope you'll like it.
I kinda gave up on stickers. It's really obvious that Valve doesn't give a shit about them, not putting them in capsules was a huge mistake and they could have gotten much more money if they did.

They didn't put them in capsules because it would increase the amount of keys you would see on the CSGO homepage. Doing it via the offer thing is clever because it won't clog the home page as only 1 sticker per week will show up. Of course, this removes the fun of unboxing a sticker, but this way is better overall, especially for sticker creators because if their sticker gets purchased they get more of the cut from the $1 of sticker sales (one would assume, anyway).
I would love some support from you guys, thank you for the space and the chance.

Agree about Nextgenz, he uploads in quantity and quality.
About stickers, tbh it helps me to learn photoshop basics ;) like normal_map, channels etc that i wasnt really aware of atm.

"That's not true at all" :D It's a bit of overkill i think. :D I dont care how much he works. those new halloween skins are jokes so baad.... and hes on the top whole week casue he is got too much followers. its all okay. that guy is a pro. yeah we all actually. :D anyway.. my point is, we got no chance to get 13000 rate. casue of this, not casu of the quality. And im fkin sure valve first check the top votes stuff.
And yeah maybe somebody making pro shit he or or she is on the 879th page so? :D
Rate is everything. :D i said im a ratewhore. Cause of these reasons! peace! :D
I would like to hear from you, how do you get the ideas to create your weapons?

personally usually i got something in my mind. after i check on the net if someone already did it or not. Or i see some art on something after im thinking it could be looks nice on a csgo gun. Im go looking for some reference you know... :D the hard part is doing it on these fkin uvs...... :D

That's it, but it's hard to know if it hasnt been done already as there are 80 000 submissions in the WS...It's easier about sticker to check if the idea hasnt been already created as sticker.

That's true. Didn't think about it that way. But I still don't understand why they made the offers so rare. I don't know a single person who has gotten one so far. I think it would have been if the offers dropped in-game.
I would like to hear from you, how do you get the ideas to create your weapons?
I don't really brainstorm that often tbh, it just kind of comes to me from time to time. I could sit on the bus and all of the sudden I get an idea. But my workshop doesn't exactly have a lot of skins. I have had a lot of ideas that hasn't really looked like I pictured them in my mind.

Helmet on it with an AK/M4 strapped on the shell maybe? Also I think it could look better if you completely scrapped the ground and the text and just had the turtle with the stuff on it. Would look hilarious xD.

This is actually a pretty nice work :)
could even imagine it in a future case :zoid:
I have a question, If I don't want parts of a gun painted ex. stock, handle, etc. How would i go about doing so, for custom paint jobs I read I cant use the original default weapon texture. I already tried to mark the places I want painted in the alphas and the parts i don't want painted are white instead of not painted in the workshop workbench.
I've been working on this for a while now. Not specifically this skin but the style for it. I wanted to make something classic and mix it with a bit of futuristic style.
I'd just really like some feedback on this because I really want to make a collection out of this and I want it to be perfect.
