Daggerfall is such an amazing game, unfortunately the quest system is such a major pain in the ass and prevents me from properly playing it. It's so hard to know where to go and find out what to do. You constantly have to ask questions to random villagers and be there at a certain time. It gets tedious.
Still I really like the game, the map is just ridiculously huge.
Had an battle event on Vikingr Today. was extremely fun and Stressful.
For those of you that have never heard of it, it is basically a mod Mount and Blade Vikings.
Its always dead but when we have events we get over 150 people playing.

Current brightness for Stormy Nights in Skyrim. Make it brighter? Change certain things about it (Cloud brightness, distant fog, etc.)?

Looks fine to me. I can see into the distance just fine so it should be pretty playable. Only thing that throws me off is just how black the distant mountains are when the sky surrounding them is brighter.

I can increase the distant fog then. Thanks.
All I can say is that it's too dark because I can't see anything else.
Been playing Rift again since Raptr gave me the Expansion Pack and 30 days of game time.

This suit cost me 15 Platinum, which is quite a bit of saving at level 34. I've spent more money on less useful things though (Super Adventure Box pets in Guild Wars 2 were 18g)

Someone pointed out to me that my character's face is very defined, then I realized that the tattoos on my character's face follow his cheek bones.

With my weapons equipped, I look like a Final Fantasy character almost.

It sure has some interesting gameplay changes and makes skimirish a lot harder, doesn't have multiplayer tho.
ROTR is no doubly the best Zero Hour mod that's still being worked on. I also love how defense-orientated the ECA is. Although I have to admit that I'm not very fond that there isn't going to be any "Vanilla" factions in the final version because you'll have to select one of your faction's three generals.
Too bad Generals and Zero Hour were the last CnC Games to have a active modding community before EA decided to give mods the boot after Red Alert 3. TO tell you the truth I think the days of highly moddable games are numbered as engines become more complex and DLCs more popular. Even Valve's games have steadily became less mod-friendly.
Skyrim. I can't find the balance of ENB effects and Depth of Field that works for every situation so I've just settled on this setting

I'm not a fan of a static Depth of Field, but it actually didn't look too bad

There's a difference between depth of field and looking through a virtual out of focus camera that has vaseline and sand on the lens.

IMO, too much bloom. everything else seems fine, but the bloom makes everything too smudgy...
and while still on the topic of skyrim, I have a set of images for a darkness test. (Stormy night again) These 2 images are roughly the same area, at the same time of night (About 12:00am), and what I'm wondering is, which image is better for a stormy night, or are both of them too dark still?
First one

Then increased ambient lighting from 60 / 65 - 85 / 90

Like I said, can't find a setting for all situations. The second screenshot is miles different than the first, yet they use the same damn settings

Same settings? The scenes aren't exactly the same view, but the ambient settings are different.

Biggest gif there is 2.24 mb, smallest is 664 kb. I think I've mastered the art of compression while keeping more or less decent quality.
Though to be fair, they are short gifs.
That game is great, ragdoll physics and collisions.

Was it that bad? I played the last Medal of Honor and I thought it was a decent game at least.
I've been thinking lately, is there no RTS in the style of Age of Empires that has a more detailed city building / management aspect and then also offers a large map with territories that can be conquered? I love the RTS game play of Age of Empires, the city management of Settlers, and the sense of accomplishment from many Grand Strategy games, but there seems to be nothing that offers a good mix of all of these concepts.
PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong, I'm craving it bad.
I think Rise of Nations had a global map, same for Empire Earth.
empire earth 2 has borders and territories while RoN has dynamic ones that shift all the time depending on how much Influence you have so idk
empire earth 2 has borders and territories while RoN has dynamic ones that shift all the time depending on how much Influence you have so idk
Ya, I enjoyed Rise of Nations, it gets a lot of things right. I would just love a game like that with a much bigger emphasis on city building. Seems these days that you can either have good city building and terrible combat (Grand Ages Rome, Settlers) or Good RTS combat and very simple base building.
Essentially, I like the long term goals of city-builders, with the short-term excitement offered by RTS like Age of Empires. Anyways, I realize that there likely isn't anything that fits what I'm thinking of exactly, but its a dream of mine.
