Why are you guys jabbing at him so much, its the first image he has ever created in 4K on Skyrim.
I wish I had a more recent card, so I can put Hd textures without having a fps of 10.

Might be criticism, but its not all constructive
Kind of annoying that Bethesda, with all that money, couldn't make the game look like this in the first place
Bethesda gave us a canvas, as they have done for a long time. We can custom tailor the game to run on a terrible PC, to amazingly gorgeous visuals that would strain the most powerful, with everything in between. Bethesda did alright. We'll take it from here

Consoles.
Consoles.
nah it's more that bethesda can't code games
I think it's because they care more about optimization than modders, who are free to force it to look as pretty as possible no matter how slow it chugs on your system.
if they care about optimization, then they have sorely fucked up since the dawn of gamebryo. (which skyrim still runs on, fyi, it's just an updated and cleverly renamed gamebryo)

they care about optimization?
the ps3 version of skyrim would like to have a word with you
I think it's because they care more about optimization than modders, who are free to force it to look as pretty as possible no matter how slow it chugs on your system.
actually bethesda half coded a game and left the modders to finish the rest
While I will say bethesda did an alright job upgrading the shaders of the engine and making it look more modern, without mods it still doesn't look nearly as good as other games and they really can't code for shit.
I mean they hard coded so many controls in the default if you change your keybinds it fucks everything to hell for inventory management and the favorites menu, without tweaks the shadows outside look as if somebody broke the damn game, and they've been using the same player physics since morrowind - of which there is none beyond "walk forward and back". If you jump or fall from really high your player can still move exactly the same way he does on the ground while falling, and they didn't even code slope detection so moving up a 75 degree angle stops you dead the exact same way a 90 degree wall does. (Ironically enough their early games on their own XnGine had the similar problems with slopes - Daggerfall there just was none so you could climb any ridiculously angled slope, and the Terminator games you could slide down stuff but sometimes it would fuck up and kill you instantly or make you fall through the ground)
There's so many more hacky things and bare-minimum workarounds they did to get things the way they wanted I don't even get how these guys haven't been replaced.
I mean for god sakes Guild Wars 2 has more coherent and realistic player movement physics then Skyrim, and that's an MMO.
Bethsoft badly needs some new talent in the coding department.

What ENB?
it's called criticism
I handle criticism just fine as I rely on it on a daily basis. And while I was hasty to put together a image to post, I can see why people don't like it. At the same time I disagree with everyone so far because it boiled down to it sounding like personal aesthetic. On some level, most of my scenes so far become backgrounds in some shape or form.
Along with that, each of these videos has been in a specific section of skyrim. This one is in that marsh, so I'm looking for good scenes to record this was one of the first places I found that might be nice. At 3 fps, I was looking to see how the DOF behaved, if it were jumpy.
Main subject matter is usually near the center of the screen, but only the bottom of the screen is clear of DOF.
When it comes to Photography, the main subject matter is clear and displayed without any blurring.
[t]http://middletownlittleleague.org/wp-content/uploads//Ball-On-The-Line.jpg[/t]
Unless you want your views to look at the bottom of their screens, or this is only temporary for a video, or you are still working out the kinks, I think you should change it. But that's just my 2 cents
The subject is usually never in the center of the screen unless the objective is to completely avoid the rule of thirds. And the subject does not have to be in focus. Those aren't rules for a interesting photo.
In any case, this was a screenshot. I think people jumped on because everyone else was.
The final scene took 3 hours to record.
Edit: I brought it into after effects to work with and it looks like the focus point was messed up so most of the image looks soft. I cut down the aperture a significant amount for a light DOF.

I spent a few weeks trying to understand cryengine for video purposes, and I remember nothing of it.
And I'm doing this on some level because skyrim still brings traffic.
Well, the Dragonborn DLC is pretty interesting so far.

That's the issue I have though. I like how the first image looks a lot. I enjoy all the negative space.
What about the final image is unpleasant to your personal tastes. I'm guessing because it's too bright?
A while back here, someone posted photo realistic GTA IV screenshots -- what mods did they use again?
Likely the new ICEnhancer, that's the most famous ENB config for GTA4
Likely the new ICEnhancer, that's the most famous ENB config for GTA4
The ENB he was using wasn't icenhancer, I can remember that much.
Well I somewhat tuned it to feel like a bright warm day, which clashes with loads of people's "perceptions" of the climate. I wanted this one to feel like a bright day. So with high IL amounts it makes the grass give glare to the "camera" and light up around the tree trunks.
Also it's relatively saturated, normally I like bleachbypass effects (contrasty with low saturation) but the point of these is to feel stylized.
Maybe in the next video I'll go for a more cold and bleak look. This one is this particular style.
What ENB?
I've done some digging and I think it is K-ENB
nah it's more that bethesda can't code games
It's both.
I toned down the bloom which contributes to the glowing grass a bit. And turned down the directlight curve so it's not as strong.
I now have to record, but with my current config I have to record at ONE frame per second. Which is causing some flashing problems since I'm still on SLI. I'm wondering what I can do :\

More Arkham Asylum. I love this game so much. It got me in a Batman mood so I'm planning on watching a bunch of the live action Batman movies + some of the animated movies soon. One movie a day for 12 days in chronological order, except for some of the newer animated movies that came out between the Nolan Batman movies as I want to watch those again together

I wish you could choose to not download the cutscenes and instead have them be rendered in real-time, instead of downloading nearly 15gb of compressed low-framerate 1080p cutscenes that aren't even rendered with AA and Tessellation enabled.
Welp, gotta dig into the emergency game media stash.
