Fallout 3. I was going to replay it before I realized how ridiculously boring that fucking game is.
You should play Fallout 1 if you haven't. If you don't mind turn based combat, it's extremely immersive and atmospheric. And tense.

I've tried to play it before but the graphics always turn me off. I just really hate that sort of style, unfortunately.
That's a shame, I had the same issue with it for a while but once I actually managed to look past that it was a fantastic game

I actually have the old Fallout games, but I had a hard time getting them to work on my current PC. The screen went black (it was a graphics bug, not a part of the game), so the screen would only update where my character moved.
There are fan patches I believe that fix some issues, though the GoG version works flawlessly on current machines.
if you go into the config files and set it to dx9 rendering mode it's fixed any issues i've run into
