Since Marines came out, this game is SO much better, I actually appreciate it now! The bad side is I spent £20 on the new one, the good news is I paid £3 odd for AVP2010 so it kind of balances out I guess.

Nice screenshots. Is the game any good? What is good about it? I've been interested in it for a while but it's pretty expensive at $75. Aren't many good tank games out there at all.

Well, it's a civilian version of the simulator used to train tank crewmen around the world. That means that the combat is VERY authentic as it is developed with the support of Armies and Defence forces around the world. That means that all the Crewable tanks are modeled very accurately, except for drivers compartments. I'd like to actually get BMP-2 and MT-LB crewable in this game as I was commander of those things during my conscription in FDF, but I'm afraid there is currently no army needing simulator for those things.
Currently the game is pretty much only focused on combat meaning that e.g. tank startups are not modeled. Sure you can turn off turret powers etc. but they are not needed to be learnt as you might actually never need to do that during battles. You can jump from tank to tank in battles meaning that if your tank gets blown up you can just commandeer another tank. After Action Reports are superb as you can watch how the battle went and that way study what went wrong etc.
As for graphics, there are going to be a full engine overhaul in 3.0 adding shadows and better model detail etc. but I'm afraid that the terrain itself might not get any updates. As you can see from the screenshots the terrain is pretty damn low quality, due to age of the game engine. Reminds you of those old air sims.
If you actually consider getting this game, you might want to wait for 3.0 as it contains tons of updates, e.g. new AI tanks, 25 new playable units, shadows, engine updates, SEP, Leo 2A5A2, some updates for CV90s etc. eSim charges for updating your game license for new game version (US$25.00). That might sound like a ripoff but it's actually for supporting the developers for making those updates.
You should probably watch loads of youtube videos about gameplay. You can also send email to get your hands on a demo version of the game (For a FREE trial demo, contact Sean or Gibson or dta delta), but unfortunately all demo licenses are currently booked through Aug 20th, 2013. I asked for the demo license after ordering my own copy and played it until my USB-dongle arrived.

Honestly. even though the game got a bunch of shit, I enjoyed it a lot. The Kill Moves mad multiplayer kind of dumb, but it was a lot of fun to play, I loved the humans the most though because me and a friend would team up in FFA and just wreck shit with the shotgun and the Pulse Rifle. The story modes were fun too, imo. Definitely better than A:CM :v:
